After a few approaches between Alejandro Gou and Diego Boneta's representative, the renowned theater producer confessed that he sought the actor who gave life to Luis Miguel in his bioseries produced by Netflix, to replace Carlos Rivera in the play José: the dreamer, but the agent of histrion Mexico would have obstructed communication and finally an agreement was not reached, in addition to the fact that before the actor himself declared that it would be difficult to agree on other projects he has at hand.
It was during the most recent broadcast of the show program, Ventaneando, that the Mexican entertainment businessman lashed out against the attitudes of Diego Boneta's manager, despite the fact that the 31-year-old actor had already made known his desire to join the staging where Fela Domínguez and Kalimba.
“With Diego Boneta I already contacted his manager, the truth is he hasn't answered me, it seems incredible to me that he doesn't answer such an important request. He knighted with me on WhatsApp, he told me: 'Alex, watch with my manager', but the manager thinks he is more of a diva than the actor,” argued the Mexican producer who has directed the renowned play El Tenorio Comico for more than 15 years.
Later, the businessman, who has been in the drama industry for just over 25 years, directly lashed out at Boneta's manager and stressed that some representatives try to control their clients' careers in such a way that they can get rid of their frustrations, since they eventually became “actors” frustrated”.
“Ricky Martin answers my phone, Emilio Azcárraga answers my phone, but I don't know what happens to those managers [...] Then managers who are frustrated actors lose a lot of opportunities,” lamented the producer and owner of Gou Producciones.
Alejandro Gou's rapprochement with Diego Boneta began to break through after the Mexican actor did not hide his emotion for giving life to the protagonist he would leave vacant, Carlos Rivera. It was in a last intervention with the same TV Azteca evening program that the storyteller who participated in the film Nuevo Orden stated that he would like to join the melodrama.
“I would love to do musical theater, we will have to find the right opportunity for times and such, but it's something I would love to do,” confessed the Mexican performer. In this way, although the actor was excited to be part of this world, he stressed that it would be difficult for him today, since he has many projects on the way.
“We just finished At Midnight, which is the first film I make with my production company Three friends with my sister, with my best friends it has been a super nice experience,” he said for the show hosted by Pati Chapoy.
It should be noted that Diego Boneta was one of the wishes of producer Alejandro Gou to resume the lead; however, after the refusal, some names had already been on the radar of the production to sterilize the performance that concluded its first season on March 27 and which lasted seven weeks at the Centro Cultural Teatro 1.
According to the entertainment journalist, Gabriel Cuevas, the one in charge of resuming the role that Carlos Rivera left vacant after his departure, it would be Kalimba who gave life to El Pharaón.
“This weekend was the last performance, Carlos Rivera leaves the play due to commitments that were agreed. I have a very reliable source who assures me that who is going to be José the dreamer is Kalimba,” he said on March 28 on the program Formula Espectacular, Flor Rubio's radio program on Grupo Formula.
