The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) shared the call for the 2022 Nutrition Support Program so that the student community that meets the requirements can access meals free of charge.
The purpose of the scholarship is to benefit UNAM undergraduate students who live in adverse socio-economic situations and with a degree of malnutrition so that they can improve their academic performance and thus reduce school dropouts.
The support consists of a scholarship through which the beneficiaries will receive a free breakfast or a balanced meal at their faculty. The UNAM Foundation emphasizes that “healthy eating is directly related to levels of attention, concentration, energy and motivation”.
The beneficiaries will receive food support during the school year in the canteens of their faculty from Monday to Friday; registration opened last Tuesday 5th and will be available until April 25, 2022.
What are the requirements to apply for aid?
* They must be enrolled in the school system in the current year or semester at UNAM according to the official calendar of each campus.
* Not be a beneficiary of other support in kind or economic type provided by the same private or public body.
* Family income must be equal to or less than six monthly salaries.
* Be an irregular student who has not accredited or taken some subjects according to their curriculum.
* In the case of regular students, their average must be equal to or less than 7.9.
* New students at the higher level must have an average that is equal to or less than 7.9 in their previous education.
* Be no older than 26 years of age at the time of applying for the scholarship.
* Have a current email address for personal use.
* The Unique Population Registration Key (CURP) that can be obtained through the page https://www.gob.mx/curp/.
* Provide a phone number.
* To register through the portal of the UNAM scholarship holder in the Integra System.
Steps to register nutrition support
* Students must enter the Integra System via the link https://www.integra.unam.mx/estudiantes/registro/.
* If you do not have an account, you must select the register section and enter the data requested by the system such as CURP, account number, email and make a password of at least 6 characters that includes a number, a special character, lowercase and capital letters.
* If the system validates the information then it will allow you to create the account.
* If you already have an account then you can log in with the 9-digit account number and password you previously generated, then verify the captcha.
* You must be aware of the information and registration of the faculty where you are studying, since each one has its specific requirements, as in the case of the Faculty of Chemistry, which was the first beneficiary of food support:
* Students of the Faculty of Chemistry must register at http://becas.quimica.unam.mx/, from 11 to 13 March 2022.
* Subsequently, upload the documents such as the academic record, UNAM or INE credential on both sides in the same PDF file, your CURP, proof of address, proof of registration for the CF, the proof of income and if you do not have an official document you can download the format at the following link: https://quimica.unam.mx/wpcontent/uploads/2020/09/Carta-Ingresos-DB-FQ.pdf
