The day Cuauhtémoc Blanco denied David Faitelson an interview in the face

The rivalry between Cuauhtémoc Blanco and David Faitelson hides many episodes, because although the famous coup of the then American footballer became the badge of the conflict, the reality is that there were several “piques” between them during the first decade of 2000.

One of the last to be revealed was mentioned by Faitelson himself, who talked about the time he traveled to Spain to try to arrange an interview with El Cuau, a couple of years before the punch he received at the Luis Pirata Fuente Stadium, since that was when the footballer was playing for Real Valladolid in Spain (2000- 2002).

At that time David was in the ranks of TV Azteca and began to make cufflinks with José Ramón Fernández, something that has never been well received by the Divo de Tepito, as it used to be one of the main songs on the part of different programs of the company.

In an interview with the Golden Scorpion, Faitelson discussed how Cuauhtémoc Blanco denied him an interview in the face and reminded him that the rejection had already made it clear to André Marín, who served as David's boss in 2001.

To the express question that if he already got along with Cuauhtémoc, the sports journalist replied:

“Not hugging and kissing, but we have had approaches, we had interviews. Notice that I went, some years ago (back) in two thousand and a little. He played in Spain, in Valladolid and was in training in Segovia and I remember that I traveled to interview him: 'Hey Cuauhtémoc, can we do an interview in the hotel lobby? '”, asked the driver.

Cuauhtémoc immediately replied: “No, I already told André Marín no, that I'm not going to give you anything (Azteca Deportes)”.

“Hey Cuauhtémoc, but I just came from Mexico to interview you, please,” Faitelson asked him, and then received a second negative answer.

“No way, I grabbed my camera, put it on my shoulder and we walked. When we were coming down from the lobby, I suddenly heard a poop. They're freaking me out from the balcony upstairs and he looks out, again with his hump. 'Come pa'' here wey, come pa' acá ', shouted the footballer.

He later explained the reason why he considers Cuauhtémoc Blanco as a good person, since in that example he gave him the interview despite the differences with his company and his person.

“Just because you come from Mexico I'm going to give you the interview,” said the sports commentator. “My point is that he is a guy with a noble heart. I know bad people in football and he's not bad, he's a good guy,” he said.

This was just one of the anecdotes that the sports commentator revealed during the talk with the Golden Scorpion, since between the rivalry he had with El Cuauh and his” I hate” Canelo Álvarez, he also talked about the time Joserra had to intervene so that he would not lose his job, after receiving Carlos's direct dismissal Salinas Pliego.
