Sogamoso prison prisoner attacked the guards of INPEC with a knife

A few days ago, events occurred in the Sogamoso Circuit prison in which a guardian of Inpec was injured after the attack of one of the prisoners with a knife. In the cameras of the place, everything that happened that afternoon of March 28 and that led the man to commit these acts was evident. It should be noted that the individual was brought under control after a few minutes of the attack.

Noticias Caracol revealed what happened in the prison center and recounted step by step how the events unfolded in which the guardian of Inpec was injured by some cuts due to the homemade sharp weapon and that she was handed over to the prisoner by another prisoner who was in the courtyard.

Last Monday, March 28, at 2:15 p.m., some Inpec guards give six to three prisoners out of the courtyard so that they can receive a conjugal visit. Among the men is Yilber Alberto Banguero, who was the person who lashed out at the guards minutes later. The prisoners, who carry blankets and pillows in their hands, climb a staircase where they wait to be able to enter the conjugal cells. Two dragonists are in charge of Sasha and Duma, two dogs who are trained in the search for suspicious items.

When the animals arrive at Yilber, it is disturbed, so the guards ask the prisoner to sit down and that is when one of the dogs approaches the man and discovers that he was carrying marijuana between his legs. Yilber is upset and his partner is asked to leave the conjugal cells since the visit was canceled. She is led out of prison by three guards of Inpec.

At that moment Yilber returns to the door of the courtyard, hands the blanket to someone, leaves, but then returns and that is when he receives the sharp weapon, climbs the stairs and attacks a guardian who was there, then goes to the entrance of the conjugal cells and it is there that he attacks the guardian who discovered the marijuana and prevented him from having his visit.

The prisoner begins to attack the woman, reduces her with his force and wounds her with the weapon on at least six occasions; while all this happens, the other guards of Inpec go out in search of reinforcements. In the hallway some of the guardian's companions try to help her, but Yilber manages to drive them away and is left with her alone again, where he takes advantage of the opportunity to continue attacking her.

It takes 30 seconds until the riot police appear, carrying a baton and some shields, who manage to reduce the prisoner, while the guardian of Inpec leaves the place where she was with Yilbert, trying to stop a hemorrhage in her left arm. The dragonante had 30 days of incapacity after the fact and three other guards suffered injuries and were cut in her hands. The prisoner, for his part, was transferred to La Picota prison in Bogotá.

According to Fredy Pardo, the Ombudsman of Boyacá, says that, “we are requesting a day of voluntary disarmament in the prisons of Boyacá by the inmates”. On the other hand, the dragoneante Óscar Robayo, in statements published by Caracol Noticias, assures that this situation also arose because, “we have evidenced the lack of technological elements to carry out the requisitions and of more technology to fulfill our function”.
