Three people were injured in Bogotá after a shooting occurred on 26th Street, at the height of the Chamber of Commerce, when an alleged charter attempt was made.
“It is a possible case of chartering that is currently under investigation, where people withdraw a certain amount of money from the premises of a bank, travel to their vehicle and at that moment they encounter four subjects mobilizing on two motorcycles,” reported Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Villamil, head of inspection of the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, as reported by Noticias RCN.
According to preliminary information from the authorities, the shooting occurred after four subjects on board two motorcycles approached people leaving a bank with a large amount of money.
A group of uniformed members of the National Police who were close to the scene quickly responded to the incident when the struggle between the criminals and the victims occurred, and according to information from El Espectador, the security personnel reacted and discharged one of the accused, who was hit by a bullet in the head.
“At that time there was a struggle and an exchange of gunfire occurred, which resulted in one person being shot in the head,” explained Lieutenant Colonel Villamil.
Currently, the injured person remains in the Colombia Clinic receiving medical assistance, and the two alleged victims of chartering, who were hit by firearms on the lower extremities, were also transferred to the Colombia Clinic where they receive assistance.
The authorities are continuing investigations into the case and at the moment they have closed the point where the shooting took place.
