The Ministry of the Interior (Segob) denied that Alejandro Encinas, head of the Ministry of Human Rights, Population and Migration, is linked to the disappearance of activist Guadalupe Xiu, after participants in the sit-in on Abraham González street identified him as responsible and disseminated the information on social networks.

Through a press release, Segob said:

“Guadalupe is located in the city of Oaxaca, where the Ministry of the Interior, at her request, is providing her with all the facilities and support to process hearings with the state government and initiating procedures for the recognition of gender identity, in order to exercise her rights as a trans woman”
