The candidate for vice-presidency for the Historical Pact, Francia Márquez, has repeatedly shown that she has been the victim of off-tone comments about her race and skin color.

The 40-year-old Caucana has resolutely embarked on politics seeking to reach mainly the Casa de Nariño. Before being appointed as vice-presidential formula of Gustavo Petro, France directly aspired to the presidency endorsed by the Alternative Democratic Pole.

However, in the past consultations, after joining the Historical Pact as part of a coalition of alternative sectors and different political perspectives, the lawyer did not win enough votes to be the sole candidate for the presidency, being largely surpassed by Petro.

Following that, the progressive leader called on him to team up for the first presidential round where they said they mainly want to win. Márquez's media exposure and his electoral aspirations have brought him attacks on social networks, some of them accompanied by strong accusations from the opposition.

A few weeks ago, a controversy began over the triune of the popular music singer, Marbelle, who has shown her political leanings, clearly against Petro and France coming to the presidency, on Twitter the artist would have referred to Petro as 'El poacas' and Francia Márquez as 'King Kong'.

Given this, one of the leaders of the Historical Pact, such as Senator Roy Barreras, immediately announced that he filed a complaint with the singer:

“I have just filed a criminal complaint with the Attorney General's Office against Mrs. Marbelle, she has committed crimes, violated the anti-racist law and violated the penal code, in Articles 134 B, 134 C. And Article 220 for insult, because she has stigmatized a valuable and emblematic human being like Francia Márquez. Marbelle, France is not alone, millions of Colombians defend it and repudiate its racist and xenophobic attack. He'll pay 3 years in jail.”

Márquez, for his part, has defended himself in a diplomatic manner and calling for union and respect, arguing that this is not the way to make a country.

In addition, the Afro-descendant candidate has received support at different times from her followers through social networks, rejecting comments that have emerged as a personal attack on the vice-presidential candidate.

Yesterday, Thursday, in Chocó and more precisely in the municipality of Istmina, a spontaneous demonstration was held by several people from that population, who were harassing against racism while demanding respect for Francia Márquez.

On Twitter, the politician uploaded the video of the march and thanked with a message the people's solidarity with the comments they have received. This said:
