Some states of the Mexican Republic have decreed the entry into force of the Dry Law, within the framework of the Consultation of Mandate Revocation, on April 10.

One of the first entities to announce this implementation was Mexico City (CDMX), whose president, Claudia Sheinbaum, informed that it will be in effect from the evening of April 09 until on sunday 10.

Despite the fact that this earned him various criticisms, other state governments will also apply the preventive measure, although it varies in the period and even in the mandatory nature of it.

Tlaxcala

The Government of Marco Antonio Mena Rodríguez indicated that the sale of alcoholic beverages will be banned from 01:00 hours on Saturday, April 9, until 01:00 hours on the 11th.

The Ministry of Citizen Security (SSC), as well as the State Commission for the Protection Against Health Risks (Coeprist) will be the units that will verify compliance with the mandate in the entity's 60 municipalities.

Campeche

Like Tlaxcala, the Government of Campeche indicated that the dry law will begin to apply at 01:00 hours on April 9, however, it will end at 23:59 hours on the 10th.

Zacatecas

The State Finance Secretariat indicated that the Seca Law will be implemented only on April 10, from 08:00 to 18:00 hours, in municipalities where voting stations have been installed.

Tabasco

Similarly, the state of which the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) is a native, will apply the restrictions throughout the day of April 10 and in general.

The Ministry of Finance warned that anyone who violates the law may be punished with a fine of two thousand Unit of Measure and Update (UMA) and suspension of the premises or establishment for 15 days.

Quintana Roo

The entity announced last Wednesday that alcoholic beverage vending establishments will have to temporarily suspend their sales from 23:59 hours on Saturday 09 until the same time as Sunday 10, that is, at 23:59 hours.

The only exceptions will be in businesses located in tourist areas, clarified the local government through the Twitter of the Ministry of Finance and Planning (Sefiplan).

Guanajuato

Although the general implementation of the restriction has not been announced, two municipalities have already determined that alcoholic beverages will not be sold for the sake of democracy.

The first of these is León, where the limitation will begin at 22:00 hours on April 9 and will end at 23:59 hours on Sunday 10. Meanwhile, Salamanca established the validity from 23:59 hours on Saturday 9 until the same time as the 10th.

Nuevo Leon

Local media indicate that, through a request from the National Electoral Institute (INE), the Neoloan administration must limit sales from 22:00 hours on Saturday, April 09, until the last minute of Sunday.

So far, there has been no official statement by the Governor, Samuel García, however, citizens have begun to share on social networks photographs of posters that give notice of such instruction.

For her part, Cristina Díaz, mayor of the municipality of Guadalupe, announced the possibility of canceling the sale of alcohol during the football match that Rayados will hold against Toluca next Saturday at the Steel Giant.

“Every day of elections organized by the INE (...) because you know that it cannot be sold. They have not officially given us the notice, but we know that whenever there is this type of activity, the sale is suspended”, he declared for ABC Deportes.

It should be noted that Nayarit and Veracruz are still pending confirmation of the entry of the Dry Law. Meanwhile, states such as Puebla and San Luis Potosí completely ruled out the entry into force of the restriction.
