While Junior from Barranquilla scored a point in his visit to Club Unión de Santa Fe in Argentina, Fluminense celebrated three valuable points at the Maracaná stadium in Rio de Janeiro with a 3-0 win over Oriente Petrolero in Bolivia and with Colombian participation in between.
This is the 24-year-old Chocoan offensive midfielder, Jhon Adolfo Arias Andrade, who scored 2-0 of the night to the 39th minute of the commitment in the ibFlu's debut for the second most important continental club tournament in Conmebol: the Copa Sudamericana.
The Brazilian team thrashed and enjoyed playing their debut in the tournament as a local and thanks to the intervention of the Colombian team, they far surpassed the Bolivian team on date 1 of group H of the competition.
The draw led by Abel Braga, who just won the state tournament Carioca 2022, was blunt from the 30th minute with the score of Cris Silva and nine minutes later Jhon Arias managed to widen the difference on the board with a powerful right-handed shot crossed inside the area on the right side of the court in sense of attack.
The former Independiente Santa Fe player stung into the void and marked the diagonal to his teammate Samuel Xavier, who filtered the ball precisely so that the coffee player would finish to place the farthest club of goalkeeper Wilson Quiñónez before the partial whistle for halftime. This was the definition of the footballer who emerged from the lower divisions of Dorados de Sinaloa in Mexico:
In the sequence of the match Fluminense increased the speed and put the final 3-0 in the complement of the match by means of Leando Zazpe's own goal. The good work of the visiting goalkeeper was overshadowed by Zazpe with his own goal to completely sink Oriente Petrolero.
This goal by Arias was the seventh goal of a player born in Quibdó wearing the colors of the Flu. It is worth noting his participation in international tournaments where he recently scored Millonarios FC in the second qualifying phase of the 2022 Conmebol Libertadores Cup in Rio de Janeiro, within the framework of a series that ended 4-1 in favor of the Cariocas, later eliminated by Olimpia of Paraguay.
This was the masterful goal of Arias with the definition of vaseline in that 2-0 final of the duel back in the key against the Colombian ambassador team on March 1:
Eliminated in the last qualifying phase of the Libertadores, Flu started his journey in the South American on the right foot and is already leading Group H, after Junior and Union did not go beyond the draw (1-1) in Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz. So far, this is how the group standings were with the results of date 1:
1. Fluminense (3 points, goal difference of +3)
2. Junior de Barranquilla (1 point, goal difference of 0)
3. Union de Santa Fe (1 point, goal difference of 0)
4. Oriente Petrolero (0 points, goal difference -3)
It should be remembered that in the next instance (round of 16) only the first club of all against all in their respective group qualifies. Fluminense's next match will be on Saturday, April 9, hosting Santos on date 1 from Brasileirão, while on Wednesday, April 13, they will have to travel to Colombia to play group H date 2 in the Copa Sudamericana against Barranquilla Junior at the Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez stadium.
