Universitario de Deportes kicked off this Thursday, April 07 with bad news. The Peruvian team was sanctioned by Conmebol for three reasons and will now have to pay a large sum after being sanctioned by Conmebol after several infractions were committed in the second round against Barcelona for the second round of the Copa Libertadores.
The resolution of the Disciplinary Commission of the highest South American entity states that the punishment of the painting 'merengue' was for various reasons. The first, which adds up to the largest economic amount ($15,000), is for violating articles 4.5.1.1, 4.5.1.2 and 4.5.1.3, which speak of the “overview of camera positions”, “construction of installations” and “camera position and orientation on platforms”, respectively.
In the second offense, according to the Conmebol Disciplinary Code, they indicate that there was “invasion or attempt to invade the field”. In addition, in the third, where they go against Article 5.3.3.1, the 'creams' infringed at the “party coordination meeting”.
All these sanctions amount to a total of 25,000 dollars, which will be deducted, as the resolution specifies, from the concept of television rights and sponsorship that the club receives. Let's remember that teams get that money for allowing them to broadcast their football matches in the different media with which the championship organizer agrees.
