With only a few days left before the start of the religious celebration of Holy Week, the departmental authorities in Cundinamarca informed what measures will be taken for those days. According to the governorate, there will be a police operation that will have at least six thousand uniformed personnel.
It should be recalled that for this time of year there is a high volume of travelers, so Governor Nicolás García announced that the operation that will guarantee the mobility and safety of all citizens who travel and visit one of the 116 municipalities of the department is now ready.
He also added that there will also be an additional 600 police officers in constant operations in the main entry and exit corridors of the department and the country's capital.
In addition, President García Bustos highlighted that more than 70 checkpoints of the Ministry of Mobility will be in operation in all road corridors in the department, where members of the Colombian Army and the National Police will be supported.
Sunday, April 17 there will be a regional peak and plate
In addition to announcing the police operation aimed at ensuring the safety of Cundinamarquis and tourists during Easter, the departmental president recalled that next Sunday, April 17, the special measure called regional peak and plate will be in force.
Governor Nicolás García pointed out that with this restriction, which has been operating on holiday weekends in revenues and departures from the department and the capital for several weeks, will be implemented in order to regulate the return of vehicles to Bogotá.
Thus, this restriction that works with the latest license plate number, admission to Bogotá will be from 12:00 m. to 4:00 p.m., for vehicles whose registration ends in even number; and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., for cars with an odd-numbered license plate.
Although this measure had been applied only on Monday holidays, it will be implemented on Sunday 17 to facilitate entry and mobility, taking into account the high traffic flow traditionally recorded on Easter Sunday.
