On more information from the drug terrorist group ELN, Defense Minister Diego Molano reported on Thursday that three people who are designated to be part of the support networks of the Eln guerrilla and who are planning to carry out terrorist attacks against the oil infrastructure in Barrancabermeja were captured .

“Apparently they are members of the Eln support networks that sought to affect other infrastructures of Ecopetrol contractors. According to the investigation, these people would be the same responsible for the latest attacks such as the one perpetrated on March 18 against the Tecnoriente company and against Discom Limitada,” he said.

The official indicated that the arrests of these persons took place in Antioquia and they intended to transfer war material to detonate it in the city of Santander.

“In the district of Tigre, municipality of Yondó, the three people who were mobilizing in a taxi were captured in flagrante and who were found in their possession five improvised explosive devices ready to be activated against companies of this energy mining union in the sector,” he said.

Molano added that knowledge of his plans was gained, following a criminal investigation carried out in the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.

“The legality hearings of this procedure were held by the Office of the Prosecutor, the operational activity originated in this criminal investigation for the crimes of extortion and terrorism. In it there are eight criteria intercepted by members of the Eln support networks, thanks to which these claims are known”, he added.

The Minister of Defense also acknowledged the collaboration of citizens to be able to find these three people who would be supporting subversive actions.

“After the Security Council held in Barrancabermeja on March 28, the citizen hotlines and complaints were activated and the poster of the most wanted was updated. Thanks to complaints from the community and the efforts of the Public Force, which works to contain the terrorist expansion of these illegal armed groups, we can give results to Colombians,” Molano concluded.
