
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021 is now on the air and highlighted 18 Colombian programs. The prestigious list covers a total of 51 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas.
Also, according to QS Quacquarelli Symonds Limited, “QS global university rankings by topic are compiled annually to help prospective students identify leading universities on a particular topic.”
For Ben Sowter, senior vice president of QS, this year's ranking showed that the Colombian departments that performed best in the ranking today are conceived as “highly competitive in the region.”

The highest rated program was the Mining Engineering program of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL), which ranked 36th in the world. It was followed by Development Studies at the University of the University of Los Andes, ranking 43rd.
In this way, the UNAL also registered 30 classified departments and of these, five ranked among the top 100. Los Andes followed with 27 programs having eight out of the first hundred.
The protagonist was Social Sciences, which included the Business Studies and Management program that included 11 national universities. Among them, the best rated was the Universidad de Los Andes.
In the area of Law, six universities were ranked, among which were Rosario, which came in 95th place; the Externado de Colombia, which took the 55th position, jumping 37 places compared to the previous year; and the Universidad de Los Andes achieved the best ranking ranking ranking in 45th place.
Other highly rated Colombian programs in the ranking were Petroleum Engineering, Modern Languages, Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Anthropology, Hotel Management and Leisure, International Politics and Studies, and Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies.
Recently, the worst universities in Colombia were also known, taking into account the results of the Saber Pro tests. The list looked like this:

3. Popular del Cesar: 138.1 (Aguachica - Public)
4. From the Pacific: 138.4 (Buenaventura - Public)
5. Metropolitan: 139 (Barranquilla - Private)
6. Simon Bolivar: 140.3 (Barranquilla - Private)
7. From the Amazon: 140.7 (Florence - Public)
8. Colombian Cooperative: 140.9 (Barrancabermeja - Private)
9. Santiago de Cali: 140.9 (Palmyra - Private)
10. Andean Area: 140.9 (Pereira - Private)
In addition to the Simon Bolivar University, three other universities classified as having high academic quality recorded low results in the tests: UniSinú de Monteria, Cordoba de Monteria and the General José María Córdova Military Cadet School in Bogotá.
