State of Mexico: PAN secretary murdered in Melchor Ocampo

The general secretary of the municipal committee of the National Action Party (PAN) in Melchor Ocampo, Juan Bosco Rivera, was assassinated on the night of April 6 in Animno Nacional Avenue, a few meters from the municipal presidency of the State of Mexico. According to the first reports, the activist of the National Action Party (PAN) was gunned down by unidentified subjects while he was outside his office in the municipality of Melchor Ocampo.

Through his official Twitter account, the coordinator of the parliamentary group of the National Action Party (PAN), Enrique Vargas Del Villar, condemned the cowardly attack that ended Juan Bosco's life, and demanded that the authorities conduct a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice while expressing condolences to the relatives of the general secretary of the municipal committee.

“As National Coordinator of the local deputies of @AccionNacional, I express my strongest condemnation of the cowardly murder of Juan Bosco Rivera, Secretary of the Municipal Steering Committee of our party in Melchor Ocampo, and demand a prompt investigation that will bring the responsible party or persons responsible to justice. To his family I express my solidarity and deep condolences. My prayers are with you,” wrote Enrique Vargas del Villar.

Similarly, the leadership of the National Action Party (PAN) of the State of Mexico ruled on the assassination of Juan Bosco and issued a statement through of their social networks where, in addition to regretting the loss of the secretary general, they asked the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) for a prompt and effective investigation to clarify the homicide and reach the final consequences against those responsible.

“The National Action Party in the State of Mexico condemns, like all cases of homicide in the State of Mexico, and today also the murder of our friend and colleague, Secretary General of the Melchor Ocampo Steering Committee, Juan Bosco Rivero Perea... Acción Nacional hopes that there will be a thorough investigation, that there will be no impunity in this and in all cases that the State of Mexico is currently experiencing”, read in the the party's leadership in the State of Mexico.

The sensitive death of the general secretary of the municipal committee of the National Action Party (PAN) caused shock among his party comrades, and some spoke out about the heinous crime.

The vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies and member of the colation Going to Mexico, Santiago Creel, dedicated a message through his social networks, where he sympathized with the family of Juan Bosco Rivera Perea.

Adriana Davila, also a member of the National Action Party (PAN), also joined the condolences; on her official Twitter account, the senator deeply regretted her death and even recalled that she had the opportunity to meet and live with Juan Bosco whom she described as an “extraordinary human being”.

In the last week, the State of Mexico has been the scene of crimes such as the assassination of the secretary general of the municipal committee of the National Action Party (PAN) and the minor Hugo Carbajal. For this reason, the party leadership in that entity condemned all cases of homicide in the demarcation, and acknowledged that violence is a factor that affects citizens every day, and therefore urged the authorities to carry out the relevant investigations to clarify the cases.

Regarding the murder of Hugo Carbajal, this Thursday morning it was reported that Mauricio “N”, the young man's alleged murderer, voluntarily surrendered to the headquarters of the Mexican prosecutor's office in Atizapán, from where he was transferred to the Tlalnepantla cereso where he was placed at the disposal of a Control Judge, who will determine his legal status in the coming hours.
