Open call for scholarships for Colombians to study master's degrees at Harvard and other universities abroad

Interested parties should apply for careers related to information technology. We tell you how to apply

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC) reported that, since April 5, registrations have been opened for Colombians who are interested in participating in the call for the funding of master's degrees abroad of the 'A Ticket for the Future' program.

According to the ICT portfolio, for the financing of postgraduate programs, which will be carried out through Icetex, the national Government had 24 billion pesos to finance 90 per cent of the value of ICT master's degrees abroad.

Those interested in applying to the program should select universities outside the country that are within the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking); the CWTS Leiden 2021 Classification; the CSIC Webometric Classification; the QS World University Rankings or the Model of ABET accreditation.

The leading educational institution in these ranks is usually Harvard University, although many more have been included in these rankings in the United States, France, Canada, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, among other countries.

Colombians who want to apply will have a deadline to do so until May 25 “or until resources are exhausted.” It is important that, before applying, keep in mind that the master's degree you choose must focus on the following topics:

- Cybersecurity.

- Artificial intelligence.

- Blockchain.

- Smart cities.

- Machine learning.

- Internet of Things (IoT).

- Cloud computing.

- Augmented reality.

- Robotics.

- 3D and 4D printing.

- Nanotechnology.

- Quantum computing.

- Cobots.

- Augmented reality and virtual reality.

- Data science.

- Regulatory framework for information and communication technologies

- Development of software and computer applications, among others.

- Be a Colombian citizen.

- Have an undergraduate degree and degree.

- To be accepted in the CIFIN credit history study, at the time of registration not more than 90 days for the applicant and his solidarity debtor. Not be reported with a negative rating in any financial risk center.

- Have your own email account.

- The applicant must have proof of definitive admission with an unconditional date of issue not exceeding 180 days.

- In the event that the country to which you are applying needs a visa, you must have it once the scholarship is awarded to carry out the process of legalization of it.

- To register through the means indicated in the call.

1. Carefully read the terms and operating regulations of the call, published at: www.icetex.gov.co.

2. Consult the list of diplomas available for the call.

3. Enroll in the diploma course at the university.

4. Pay for the CIFIN study (if you did it for the postgraduate program call, you must not pay it again, the CIFIN pass lasts 90 days).

5. Fill out the Credit Application form on www.icetex.gov.co, and upload the media.

6. Be attentive to the results of the call. If elected, proceed with the legalization of the credit.

Please note that, in the selection process, the beneficiaries of ICT Mission (women and veterans) will be prioritized; those who meet academic merits (academic average of the undergraduate) and, in addition, students from certain cities or municipalities of residence will be prioritized.

Don't forget that, if you are interested in participating in the master's scholarships of the 'A Ticket for the Future' program you will have until next Wednesday, May 25 to apply.
