The duo formed by José Ramón Fernández and David Faitelson has been one of the most controversial in the field of sports journalism. Despite their constant criticism of various personalities, they have consolidated themselves as two leading characters in their area. Their fame began to be forged when they were part of TV Azteca. However, in an attempt to vindicate his work, the youngest was fired, but Joserra intervened to prevent it.

In a talk with the Golden Scorpion, Faitelson Pulido recalled his time with The Protagonists team and an anecdote that was about to make him lose his job. Although he did not specify the date, he told when Moisés Saba, director of the Red Sharks of Veracruz and the television station, declared that José Ramón Fernández controlled his work team.

The statement was not well received by the team of journalists. Thus, José Ramón and David decided to write an editorial to pronounce it at the beginning of the news broadcast on television and to vindicate their position. “Wonderful was the editorial. It was a very good 50 seconds,” he recalled in space.

“On Monday I come to work and they tell me 'they are waiting for you in Mr. Salinas Pliego's office'. When I arrived there was José Ramón outside the office and he says to me 'Don't say anything Faitelson. Come in and say everything yes'. We went in and Mr. Salinas Pliego was there. 'You know that Mr. Saba is my partner and you disrespected my partner. ' He played (to the screen) and I appeared on the news at night, in Acts, saying the editorial,” he said.

According to the anecdote, the president of Grupo Salinas paused the video on a couple of occasions to reprimand the protagonist of the video. At the end of the segment, Ricardo Salinas said that, because he was the youngest of the couple, David Faitelson had lost his job. On the contrary, appealing to his experience, the owner of the television station chose to give the main face of his sports journalism team a second chance.

Upon receiving the news, the journalists left the businessman's office and Faitelson set out to take out his belongings. However, Fernández interrupted him and asked him to wait while he spoke with Salinas Pliego. On his return, José Ramón assured that he could get a second chance only if Moisés Saba, the character offended by the publisher, forgave them.

“'Where is that p*nche Moses? ' , (Joserra questioned). When he entered the office he threw a pen at his desk and demanded that 'you went to accuse us with Mr. Salinas'. Moises got along well with Jose Ramon. In the end Moses said 'they stop by because they don't have to do that kind of editorials. Well, he dies there. '” At the end, the partner phoned Salinas Pliego to say “let's give these two a chance”, he concluded.

Although Faitelson opened up about that occasion, she acknowledged on camera that it was not the only time she nearly lost her job. And it is that his peculiar personality has brought him any number of rivals, both inside and outside the journalistic sphere. The list includes Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Saúl Canelo Álvarez, Jorge Pietrasanta and even Ricardo Peláez himself.

In the case of Peláez Linares, the journalist recalled that the beginning of his controversial enmity occurred when the current manager was still a player for the Chivas of the Guadalajara Deportivo Club. And it is that Faitelson joked with one of the best qualities that the footballer demonstrated in his career when he stated that “he is such a good headliner that the head just uses it to finish”.

Peláez did not miss the opportunity to face it the next time he had the chance. It was in the halls of the Jalisco Stadium where they met face to face and the first chapter of the rivalry was written, which even transcended television.
