Juan Camilo Hernandez's season at Watford in England has gone from less to more. The Colombian attacker started as a substitute, entering in the second half to finish the matches. However, little by little he has earned a place in the starting training as a result of his good participations.
March has been a rather special month for 'Cucho', as it is popularly known. First, of the three matches Watford played in the Premier League during this period, the Colombian was the initialist in all of them: he played the 90 minutes against Arsenal, Wolverhampton and Southampton. And, in second place, he increased his scoring quota, since, of the five goals he scored in the entire championship, three of them occurred in that period of time.
That is why the 22-year-old was nominated to win the award for best player of the month in March, according to a ranking released by fans of the English tournament ('PFA Fans Player of the Month').
Through their social networks, Watford released the news about the nomination of the Pereirano footballer. This distinction, which is awarded by the Association of Professional Footballers (PFA) of England, also included in its list at the winger Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), the Brazilian steering wheel, Philippe Coutinho (Aston Villa), the local striker, Ivan Toney (Brentford), the German steering wheel, Kai Havertz (Chelsea) and the striker of the English national team, Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur).
After the double for 'Cucho', last March 13 against Southampton, Roy Hudson, Watford coach, confirmed that he was impressed with the level exposed by the Colombian in the English league: “It's getting important. He wasn't really thoughtful before he arrived. He was outlining his ideas about the composition of the team and he wasn't really being considered. We have it now and it can win us matches. That's what he's done. His goal for Arsenal and his performance there. His game today was really good.”
The Colombian winger has not stopped accumulating individual distinctions since he arrived at Liverpool. In February, for example, he was selected as the author of the best goal in the English league. This recalling the goal he made in the match against Norwich City, where he received a ball into space and defined above the goalkeeper.
At the end of March, 'Lucho' was chosen by the English newspaper, 'Daily Mail', as the best signing of the winter market over Coutinho (Aston Villa), Dejan Kulusevski (Tottenham), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle), Dan Burn (Newcastle), Cristian Eriksen (Brentford) and Lucas Digne (Aston Villa).
Likewise, the guajiro also won the prize for the best goal of March in the group 'Red'. This conquest occurred on March 12, in Liverpool's 2-0 victory against Brighton for matchday 29 of the Premier League. After receiving a pass from Cameroonian Joel Matip, Diaz headed to the goal, but the goalkeeper, Robert Sánchez, who tried to anticipate, could not stop his career and ended up colliding with the Colombian.
Although the coaching staff was frightened by the collision, 'Lucho' was able to rejoin the engagement without problems. “A brave header by Luis Díaz after a superb assist from Matip,” Liverpool wrote on their social networks after announcing the results.
