On 9 March, Ayacucho FC beat Sport Boys 2-0 in the first match of the Copa Sudamericana preliminary phase and in the process of the match, a blackout occurred at the IPD stadium in Huancayo, which stopped the game for several minutes. After almost a month, Conmebol ruled on what happened and fined the 'Foxes' financially.

The football organization notified the Ayacuchano team of the following: First, it will have to pay an amount of 38 thousand dollars for breaching two articles of the Conmebol Sudamericana 2022 Club Manual. “The local club must necessarily have a generator to ensure that during the match the power for lighting the playing field is not interrupted”, it can be read in that document.

Second, you'll have to pay $5,000 for the violation of an article. “Clubs must provide free Wi-Fi or wired high-speed internet connection (according to CONMEBOL specifications) at various sites in the stadium,” this was regulated by Conmebol.
