On the afternoon of this Wednesday, April 6, new demonstrations were held by motorcyclists who oppose the decision of the Mayor's Office of Bogotá to ban motorcycle barbecue for three days a week, a measure that would take effect in the capital of the country from next April 11.
In the middle of this day, there were attacks by motorcyclists against uniformed members of the security forces. One of these videos was shared by Bogotá Councilwoman Lucia Bastidas through her Twitter account and asked that those responsible be identified by the Secretary of Security.
“Assaulting the Police. It's not like that. Peaceful protests please. Secretary of Security, where are the cameras that identify this aggressor?” , said the councilor of the Green Party on social media.
The video shows how a person throws a strong kick at the policeman who tries not to fall off the motorcycle. However, it is later seen how they knock him down, while another member of the security forces has to stop the motorcycle in the middle of the bikers' whistles and harangues.
Afterwards, members of Esmad and other police motorcycles come to the scene. From noon on Wednesday, turtle plans were recorded in various parts of the city.
After the video was released, the commander of the Metropolitan Police, General Eliécer Camacho, expressed his rejection of what happened and announced a reward of up to 10 million to find the whereabouts of the aggressor.
The official stated that the events occurred on Caracas Avenue with 63, when the subject attacks without a word a member of the National Police who was accompanying the protesters. “This aggression is covered by the Citizen Security Act. The police offer up to 10 million pesos to the person who helps us identify this criminal,” said the general.

According to reports from the Mayor's Office, during this day there were demonstrations in race 9 with 110 street, in race 7 with 72 street, in race 11 with 100 street and on NQS avenue with 26th street. On the part of the district, it is estimated that about 20,000 motorcyclists participated in these demonstrations.
Mayor Claudia López has not yet issued the decree that will regulate the restrictions. The local president explained on Wednesday that she will listen to the comments that citizens and the biker's guild have on the draft decree that her administration presented.
In order to alleviate the impact that could be generated by the barbeque restriction, the district government announced five exceptions to this measure, which are: for insurers who work in the city, the chosen drivers of insurance companies, the transportation of people with disabilities, emergencies of any type and for workers in surveillance companies.
The figures provided by the local administration show that in 35 per cent of cases of robberies committed on public roads, the aggressor mobilizes on foot, while in 65% he does so by motorcycle. Of that percentage, 20% of the robberies are committed only by the driver and 45% with a barbecue.
For its part, the motorcycle guild asks the mayor's office to verify these insecurity figures in a real way, “the idea is that they talk, that they feel, that those who handle those numbers well agree on what the reality is there, and from that we make decisions”.
