Alec Baldwin's career and life has a before and after what happened in the shooting of the film Rust, five months ago, when a gun he carried with bullets that were supposedly not real, ended up firing a fatal shot at Halyna Hutchins, director of photography. Recovering from such a big blow can take a long time in the industry or it can simply quickly go into oblivion.
Baldwin has been through the cancellation of part of the industry and although he apologized for the tragic event with Hutchins' family, he is currently facing a lawsuit from them (Halyna's husband, Matthew Hutchins, and their son, Andros). The lawsuit you're facing is for wrongful death.
Perhaps as a way to soften his image in the face of a tremendous event, he chose to play Santa Claus in the film Kid Santa, in which he shares the poster with his brother, William Baldwin, and actress Elva Trill. The information was published in the Daily Mail newspaper, and in addition, Alec is characterized as Santa Claus in a photo.
The film will be directed by Francesco Cinquemani, creator of Christmas stories such as Vote for Santa, Christmas Thieves and The Christmas Witch, three films made in 2021, and now Kid Santa is joining. Together, Cinquemani and Baldwin had already worked on the 2016 film Andron - The Black Labyrinth, and are currently shooting this new project in Rome. The images of Baldwin as Santa Claus bring him closer once again to the public that has not yet forgotten the tragic event.
Meanwhile, the film Billie's Magical World is being produced in parallel, which will also feature Alec and William. Both this production and Kid Santa, have a mix between real image and animation.
But this is not the only project Baldwin has on his hands, as he has a couple of films that are in the final stage of post-production, waiting for their release. On the one hand there will be the film Supercell, a drama that brings him together with Skeet Ulrich (Scream) and Anne Heche (Seven Days and Seven Nights), and another film called 97 Minutes, an action-suspense story in which Baldwin brings to life a man who will try to save people who travel on a plane without fuel. There he shares a lineup with Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Vikings) and actress MyAnna Buring (The Witcher).
