WWDC22: Apple announces date of its developer conference

The latest innovations of the company's operating systems will be announced. It will be in online format

Apple announced that it will host its World Developers Conference (WWDC) , for its acronym in English) in online format from 6 to 10 June.

WWDC22 will showcase the latest innovations in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. In turn, experts will be able to access Apple technologies to learn how to create innovative applications.

Like every year, there will be an opening ceremony (keynote) and then several specialized conferences. At the same time, this edition will add more learning laboratories, digital rooms to interact with attendees and more content will be available to attendees.

In addition to the online conference, the company will host a special day for developers and students in Apple Park on June 6 to watch the keynote together.

Space will be limited, so you will have to reserve a place. It has not yet been announced what that admission process will look like, but the company said that the necessary instructions will soon be given to attend the event.

The computer giant will also support students who are taking their first steps in programming with the Swift Student Challenge competition.

This refers to Swift Playgrounds, an application for iPad and Mac that helps to learn Swift programming in a simple and interactive way.

For this year's challenge, students around the world are invited to create a Swift Playgrounds app project on a topic of their choice, and they can submit their work until April 25.

Winners will receive exclusive WWDC22 apparel, a set of custom pins, and one year membership in the Apple Developer Program. To participate you must enter here.

“At its core, WWDC has always been a forum for building connections and building a community,” said Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of global developer relations and business and education marketing, in a statement released by the company. He added: “In that spirit, WWDC22 invites developers around the world to come together to explore how to bring their best ideas to life and push the boundaries of what is possible. We love connecting with our developers and hope that all of our participants are motivated by their experience.”

Apple plans to launch a subscription service

As mentioned, the meeting is expected to receive many new developments in the field of software, as it happens every year. Innovations in the design, performance and productivity of operating systems that nourish the company's ecosystem will surely be announced.

But there can always be some surprise. In this connection, you can expect some announcement linked to new devices, programs or, even some completely new plan, such as the subscription service for to facilitate the purchase ofa href="https://www.infobae.com/tag/iphone/" rel="noopener noreferrer" iPhones and other products.

This is not officially confirmed, but rather it is an advance that sources linked to the company gave Bloomberg a few days ago. It is an option that would involve paying a monthly fee to buy the company's mobile phone as well as other devices.

The project is currently under development, but that is a very promising idea that could soon be realized. Adopting hardware subscriptions would be a major change in strategy for the company, which aims to continue growing in the market.

The idea is to offer the purchase of an iPhone ora href="https://www.infobae.com/tag/ipad/" rel="noopener noreferrer" iPad along with access to services such as a href="https://www.infobae.com/tag/icloud/" rel="noopener noreferrer" biCloud storage or an Apple Music subscription.

The company plans to allow customers to subscribe to hardware with the same Apple ID and App Store account that they already use to purchase apps and subscribe to services.

The initiative generates quite a lot of expectation and would undoubtedly be an interesting change of direction for the way the company's products are purchased. It will be necessary to see if anything is mentioned at the annual developers' conference.
