The Oaxaca Prosecutor's Office led three searches in alleged safe houses of Gustavo Abigail Díaz, el Pino, identified as leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, where they located weapons, drugs and machinery with reports of theft.

According to the ministerial report, the raids were carried out in the Papaloapan Basin to follow up alleged CJNG crimes, as well as the wrongful acts attributed to Father del Pino, former local deputy Gustavo Díaz Sánchez, el Gato.

Both are subject to criminal proceedings in Veracruz, which is why authorities of that state assisted in the searches of the properties, in addition to the National Guard. More than 30 ministerial agents and federal troops arrived at the homes of San José Cosolapa, in the early morning of April 6.

They first arrived at the town of Estación el Refugio, while the second search was at the El Canutillo ranch and the last revision took place in a winery in the same municipality.
