The new of The Wilds will arrive in May and the first official trailer he published Prime Video warns a little about what will be seen in the next episodes. Back on the island, teenage girls appear again who are stranded, but they are not the only ones to be the subject of this strange experiment. Like them, a group of boys of the same age have managed to survive on another island and could soon meet for the first time.
According to the official synopsis, the second season will focus on “the terrible experience of a group of teenagers stranded on a deserted island who did not end up there by accident, but were secretly recruited for an elaborate social experiment. The new season intensifies the drama by revealing that the girls are not the only ones being studied... there is a new set of subjects, an island of teenagers, who must also fight to survive under the watchful eye of the experiment's puppeteer.”
From what we can see, the new chapters will delve into the purposes behind this research project led by Gretchen. However, there was never any express consent of the protagonists to be taken to live in the midst of the dangers of nature. Luckily, each of them enjoys skills that benefit them in the process of survival, so it is intuited that the selection was definitely not random. Likewise, while they are far from civilization, friendships and romance will emerge.
The television proposal was created by Sarah Streicher and is described as follows: “A group of teenagers from radically different backgrounds are stranded on a remote island, not knowing that they have become the subject of an elaborate social experiment.” The first season was released in December 2020 and the cast consisted of Sophia Ali, Shannon Berry, Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, Mia Healey, Erana James, Helena Howard, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush and Rachel Griffiths.
In this continuation, we see the young women on the island again, but previous episodes had already told us that everything would be a social experiment to discover if it is the women or men who could survive without problems in such an extreme situation. The advance revealed that there are men on another island and that none of the groups have been able to see each other's faces so far.
The actors that will make up this men's team will be Zack Calderon, Aidan Laprete, Nicholas Coombe, Charles Alexander, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Reed Shannon, Tanner Ray Rook and Alex Fitzalan. Like their counterparts, there will be eight in total who will have to find a way to live to tell about it and will experience many more problems along the way due to their conflictive behavior, depending on how little was seen of this group in the first batch of chapters.
The second season of The Wilds will be released on May 6 through Prime Video.
