The Papi Juancho World Tour 2022 in Maluma is going from strength to strength. The Colombian's next concert to be held in Madrid, Spain, in the middle of the Wizink Center allowed him to claim a record that Metallica had set four years ago on that same stage.

Maluma was already in Germany where he was surprised by a marriage proposal that was made right on the stage. He was in Barcelona and on 5 April he made his presentation in Madrid on a tour that will also take him to Romania and Tel Aviv, in the east of the world, for the next few weeks, before returning to Medellin and Mexico.

The legendary band Metallica was in 2018 at the Wizink Center, when it had become the main musical stage in the Spanish capital. In 2016, its capacity was expanded and only the following year it had 156 events, the largest number in its history.

James Hetfield's band had not visited Spain for nearly six years and on that occasion they set out to surprise the fans of their metallic giant, with a new 360° stage and two performances on February 3 and 5 at the Wizink Center.

Still, he broke attendance record. A year earlier, when the tickets were sold, they sold out with 16,767 attendees. As if that were not enough, the second date, just two days apart, broke the same ceiling again for 17,267, making that scenario one of the ten most important in Europe.

Now, the Colombian reggaeton singer, Maluma, has managed to surpass those figures. His concert in Madrid achieved, according to several local media, an attendance of 17,400 fans, so the biggest crowded on stage will now bear his name.

Maluma en Madrid

Maluma posted on his social networks that it was one of the best shows he had ever done and was excited about Feid's company on stage, singing for the first time his hit Mojando seatentos. “What level Madrid”, the singer wrote in his Instagram stories. He assured that that night will always remain in his heart.

However, it is not Maluma's only time in Spain this year. It has several dates in the coming months, including another performance at the Madrid venue on July 8, another commitment on July 7 in Valencia, on the 17th in Palma de Mallorca or on the 20th in the tourist town of Marbella - Malaga, and others.

On the El Hormiguero program, Maluma shared personal details of her preparation before the concerts and that successful night she would have in Madrid. “I drink coffee because it's my vice, I love it. Then I go to the gym, have breakfast, listen to the songs I'm going to sing, I call my family and friends and, around 17:00 hours, I go to the stadium,” explained the colombian.

He also assured that he likes to play ping pong, and he does it before singing or rehearsing, so sometimes the team gets angry, because he arrives sweaty, changes quickly and is ready to make his presentation.

It is worth remembering that Maluma started the Papi Juancho World Tour 2022 with a presentation in Paris on Thursday, March 10. Through a fun video on his networks, the artist announced the next dates of the event that on April 30 will bring him back to his native Medellin, with a presentation at Athanasio Girardot.

During the tour, he plans to visit 12 countries in Europe without pause, including Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Greece, Dubai, Portugal, Romania, among others. On the last two dates (10 and 11 April), Maluma will arrive in the city of Tel Aviv, in Israel, where the songs of 'Papi Juancho' are among the most listened to.

In 2019, he sold out the largest stadium in Israel, Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv, with more than 60,000 spectators. He also made history at the 18th Annual Mawazine Festival in Rabat, Morocco, setting an all-time record of attendance as the protagonist of the concert in front of 200,000 people. And he performed for the first time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia before 25,000 people.
