Paty Navidad reacted to anti-vaccine attacks: “I use my right to freedom of expression”

Paty Navidad has become one of the most controversial Mexican celebrities in recent years and not necessarily because of her work on television, such as her impeccable performance in La Fea Más Bella, but because of her anti-vaccine stance that has kept her in the eye of the hurricane with constant attacks on social networks and the decision of platforms such as Twitter to terminate their profile.

Now the singer reacted to all the attacks she has received on social networks because of her comments and opinions about COVID-19, so in an interview with TVyNovelas magazine she commented that she is only using her freedom of expression and although she did not mention the issue of the pandemic directly, netizens they assured that the hint was for them.

“Not to be afraid to express what he means and who he is. I am not a person who disrespects everyone, fighting with those who attack me, or assaulting others. I have very instilled values, especially respect. But precisely because I am free, honest and transparent, I have had problems; sadly on social networks and some media outlets have devoted themselves to attacking me mercilessly, without considering that all I do is express my opinions, my way of feeling and thinking, making use of my right to freedom of expression and thought”, began to tell the actress.

Then he added: “We should all defend him, and that has caused me a big problem. In society we must learn to respect ourselves and be aware that the richness of human diversity begins with diversity of thought, and no one owns the absolute truth.”

For the actress of other melodramas such as Por Ella Soy Eva, Cañaveral de Pasiones and Zacatillo, a place in your heart, her honesty and transparency have been one of the reasons for social media users to constantly question her, because despite the fact that each person is free to express their opinion, the use of appropriate words is essential for the correct communication of the message.

For this reason, a rumor arose that her anti-vaccine statements had caused her withdrawal from a label, but now she responds:

“I was left without a label; unfortunately I had a bad eye. I came to Mexico City for music, and I wanted to use Televisa's CEA as a springboard; I became known as an actress, and I am very grateful for that, because the audience welcomed me well. Then I took my first steps into music and released five albums, but I had a bad feeling with my label, because it disappeared; I switched to another one and the same thing happened,” he said.

The singer is currently hosting a program on TV Azteca of the musical genre that she has tried to conquer throughout her career, but now she confessed that machismo has been one of her main enemies in her attempt, since the Mexican regional has never been prepared or designed to have women representatives on the scene.

“It was also a time when it was more difficult for women to enter this genre, which is mostly encompassed by men; it was difficult for women, even though I arrived with an album recorded and supported by El Recodo Band. Even so many obstacles were put to me, there was not the same openness as today for women and men alike. Today there is a very beautiful moment within the Mexican regional genre”, he concluded.
