Operation in Putumayo was legitimate and planned five months ago: MinDefensa

The portfolio manager assured that all protocols of International Humanitarian Law were complied with during the process

Defense Minister Diego Molano delivered his version this Wednesday at a press conference about the operation in Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo, which has been classified by some social organizations as a false positive. The head of portfolio assured that the operation was legitimate and was planned for five months before giving the green light to its development.

Molano explained that the intelligence of the Navy had information about the presence of illegal groups in the territory, which carried out activities related to drug trafficking. It also noted that all protocols of International Humanitarian Law were complied with during the operation.
