María Fernanda Cabal compares Petro to Santos and warns of possible fraud

The senator of the Democratic Center has spoken on the news of the new debate leader of the candidate of the Historical Pact

María Fernanda Cabal, a senator re-elected by the Centro Democrático party, showed her nonconformity in front of who will preside as Head of Campa on the way to the Casa de Nariño of left-wing candidate Gustavo Petro.

It would be Alfonso Prada, who in the campaign of the late Luis Carlos Galán served as Private Secretary. The news would have been released by Semana, although without an official statement from the Historical Pact ratifying the approach.

The media has written that members of the Petro party had confirmed the news to him and that in the next few hours the information would be officially released from the Historical Pact, which was done by chief Gustavo Petro himself.

However, Alfonso Prada would have published on Tuesday on his Twitter social network what could be taken as an indication of his arrival in Gustavo Petro's campaign for the first presidential round on May 29.

The opponents of candidate Gustavo Petro would not like this appointment at all, so their voices were not long in coming. Senator Cabal was one of the strongest in criticizing this approach between Prada and petrianism, since she says that the lawyer is close to former President Juan Manuel Santos, which led her to make a comparison with Petro and to warn of possible fraud.

The criticism was joined by other citizens on social networks who recalled Prada's passage through the direction of the National Learning Service, SENA, where he was accused from different sectors of alleged corruption, however, investigations circulating in the Prosecutor's Office were shelved due to lack of evidence at the beginning of 2022.

Gustavo Petro announced on social networks through the following video, the confirmation of the news that had been rumored since Wednesday morning under this slogan:

“If the idea of peace dies, Colombia dies and we are the change for life. That is why we convene the day we signed up, a great convergence for peace and life.”

Alfonso Prada is 57 years old, is a lawyer from Bogotá and has served as councilman of Bogotá, as well as Representative to the House and Secretary General during the administration of Juan Manuel Santos. His task now would be to unite some of the followers of santismo and the undecided central sector in the face of the presidential elections to the campaign of Petro, who so far continues to lead the polls of intent to vote, followed very closely, according to the new poll, by Antioquia's Federico Gutiérrez.
