From the early hours of this Tuesday, March 5, a road blockade was reported in Periférico Norte, at the height of the municipality of Naucalpan de Juárez, in the vicinity of the Mexico City and the State of Mexico, a situation that generated road chaos in the area.
Since 09:00 hours, at the height of Naucalli Park, a group of protesters have kept taking the lanes from both directions to protest the murder of Hugo Carbajal, a 15-year-old teenager who was killed last April 2.
According to information released by Hugo's parents, the teenager's life was taken away in the Imperio event hall, located in Jilotzingo, EdomeX, during a clandestine party held by allegedly Mauricio “N”, the precinct's security guard.
“He grabbed him in the back and put a knife in his neck (...) they had an altercation, in fact the motive for the start of the altercation is unknown,” explained Héctor Hugo Carbajal, father and namesake of the victim.
During the protest, Hugo's relatives showed the media videos and images they were able to rescue, in which the young Carbajal was seen inert on the ground, as well as the alleged murderer with blood stains on his clothes.
Meanwhile, young people who were at the party and who were part of the road blockade today, reported that the alleged aggressor fled the place with the help of the owner, as well as co-workers, so far he is at large.
Likewise, the parents reported that they learned of the death until they arrived at the hospital, because when they reported their condition, they only warned about its seriousness, but more than that.
While the protest was unfolding, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) announced that the arrest warrant was issued to arrest the alleged murderer.
In a statement, the justice unit notified that it was possible to identify the probable perpetrator thanks to the evidence that had been presented; however, it explained that investigations are continuing to close the case.
However, this did not help to calm the spirits of the demonstrators; nor did the presence of the undersecretary of government, Ricardo de la Cruz, who came forward for communication.
In addition, the official was accused of starring in a “media show” by the protesters because he went to listen to Mrs. Maurine, who asked the media who came to the scene to spread the photograph of Mauricio “N” and warned that, until he is captured, the blockade in Peripheral will continue North.
However, the protesters have asked for the presence of the entity's governor, Alfredo del Mazo Maza, to give answers as to why the situation has not been resolved, as well as why the alleged culprit has not been arrested.
Despite the above and until the time of writing the note, the blockade continues in the area and the protesters have warned that they will extend if they do not receive answers from the authorities, who demanded to arrest the perpetrator of the murder.
