Football coach in Monteria was arrested accused of abusing some of his students

In Monteria, several cases of sexual abuse of minors were reported by a coach of a football school in the La unión sector. Everything seems to indicate that this person, allegedly, in exchange for money, abused the minors who attended this school. These events would have occurred since last January 2022 and according to the authorities, there could be some other minors who were victims of this subject. Members of the CTI of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation carried out the arrest.

Everything seems to indicate that the 31-year-old teacher took advantage of the young man as he offered him money and deception to commit abuse against his sexual integrity. Authorities confirmed that they are investigating whether there are more victims. This was discovered since a father of one of the minors found on his son's cell phone several conversations with the football school coach.

“As stated by the victim and her complainant father, sadly a supposed instructor at a football school in Monteria took advantage of it to offer money and deception to the minor to commit any kind of abuse against his sexual integrity. It is investigating whether there are more victims,” said Cindy Tatiana Vargas, sectional director of the Prosecutor's Office in Córdoba.

It is important to note that the identity of the coach and the name of the sports school were not revealed by the Prosecutor's Office, however, it was known that the child under the age of 13, who was carrying out his sports process at the football school that would be located in La Unión in the Cantaclaro neighborhood, south of Monteria. The child's father became aware of this situation after he took his son's cell phone and noticed several conversations the coach had with his son.

“I offered him money and he was excited about becoming a great footballer if he followed in his footsteps, this led us with sufficient evidence to request the arrest warrant, yesterday the hearings were held to legalize it, imputation and for today the judge will resolve the measure to be imposed,” added Cindy Tatiana Vargas. For now, the authorities are trying to determine if there are more minors involved and if they were victims of the coach.

Recently uniformed members of the Metropolitan Police captured a 38-year-old person for the crime of abusive carnal access to a minor under the age of fourteen. This operation was carried out through complaints filed by the parents of the minor. Deivid José Rodríguez Ortiz, took advantage of his status as teacher of the victim to commit the sexual act against the 13-year-old girl.

The subject, through deception, summoned the minor to the baths of the educational institution and in that place proceeded to touch her private parts on several occasions, reaching carnal access to her against her will. A Guarantee Control Judge determined the measure of custodial assurance in a prison center.

Another recent case in Córdoba was that of priest Carlos José Carvajal, who is accused of alleged sexual violence against a girl under 13 years of age, recently surrendered to justice voluntarily. These facts are the subject of investigation by the authorities, and the minor who was the victim of the parish priest, would have become pregnant and he would have forced her to have an abortion. It is expected that in the coming days the parish priest will appear before a guarantee control judge, to respond to the allegation of charges.
