Mateus Uribe started with Porto on Monday, April 4 for the 28th date of the Portuguese Primeira Liga against the Santa Clara club.
However, the Colombia national team player and benchmark of the Dragão team retired from the field in the 55th minute with a notable discomfort in his right leg.
The Antioquia steering wheel from Porto was injured and Serbian midfielder Marko Grujić entered the game instead. His absence from the engagement caught the attention of those present at the Estadio do Dragão in Porto, as it is not usual for the player to retire in this way from the courts in Portugal.
The midfielder with a past in Envigado FC, Deportes Tolima, Atlético Nacional and Club America de Mexico started in the 4-4-1-1 scheme proposed by coach Sérgio Conceição and in which Fábio Viera looked like a figure scoring a double in the first half (38′ and 41′) and who also had the goal of the left back Zaidu Sanusi (84′). Uribe, meanwhile, retired from the court with a rating of 6.7 out of 10 according to the portal specialized in sports statistics, SofaScore.
Uribe had just participated in the double elimination date with the Colombia team in the clashes against Bolivia and Venezuela on March 24 and 29, even scoring a goal in the 3-0 of the tricolor in Barranquilla against the team led by César Farías.
Uribe's last goal for the Portuguese team was converted to Lazio Italy on February 24 for the round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League 2021/22 and since then he had been an undisputed starter in the blue and white midfield.
According to the club itself, Uribe has a “myalgia in his right thigh”, a condition for which he had to be checked again by the Porto medical department this Tuesday to know precisely how long he will need to be in recovery. The condition of the Colombian is usually a strong muscle pain and arises from excessive physical activity or a blunt blow to the affected region.
The most likely thing is that Uribe will miss the first leg semifinal of the Portuguese Cup next Thursday, April 21 against Sporting Lisboa and the same would happen with the Primeira Liga matches against Vitória Guimarães and Portimonense.

Mateus has been present in 24 league matches, of which 23 were initialists and also played five times throughout the season in the Portuguese Cup. In international competitions, the central midfielder paisa was present in six UEFA Champions League group stage games and twice in the round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League.
Although Mateus' injury no longer affects the interests of the Colombia national team, the 31-year-old set off the alarms this week at FC Porto, a club that is currently the undefeated leader of the Portuguese first division league with 76 units accumulated, six more than guard Sporting Lisboa.
In 24 victories and only four draws, the Porto dragons are the main candidates to win the title for the 2021/22 season, as they are also the ones who have scored the most goals (71) — despite Luis Díaz's departure to Liverpool — and the second least scored (19), two more goals than Sporting Lisbon.
