The coordinator of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) in the Chamber of Deputies, Luis Espinosa Cházaro, lashed out against the head of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Delfina Gómez Álvarez, for failing to appear in San Lazaro to appear for the disappearance of the Full-Time Schools program .

Through his Twitter account, the deputy petista ironized that the head of the SEP should attend the lower house with the same enthusiasm with which she withheld the salaries of the workers from the municipality of Texcoco.

The goal, explained the Sol Azteca legislator, is for Gómez Álvarez to explain to the deputies and women deputies the cancellation at the federal level of the Full-Time Schools program, since they have been waiting “more than a month” since he was summoned.

Like Luis Espinosa Cházaro, several deputies and members of the Democratic Revolution Party demanded that the head of the Ministry of Public Education appear in San Lazaro for canceling the program.

What are you hiding, what are you hiding? The children of Mexico are still waiting for your appearance, Delfina Gómez,” Rep. Estefania Rodríguez wrote.

For its part, the party's official account stated: “Today marks 14 days without Delfina Gómez facing the millions of students who are denied a full-time education and food. How long are you going to stop me from appearing?

And it is that on March 15, the Coalition Going for Mexico in the Chamber of Deputies agreed to summon Secretary Delfina Gómez for eliminating, at the level federal, the Full Time Schools program.

In a press conference from the Legislative Palace of San Lázaro, Luis Espinosa stressed that the appearance was proposed by his party and had the approval of Morena and all political parties.

At the time, the perredista indicated that the Working Group would be held on March 22 in the Chamber of Deputies, with the purpose of questioning the secretary about the fate of the 3.6 million children and adolescents who benefited from the program.

We will question why a program that was growing and that was well qualified, with a standard, with transparency, with results, will disappear, and we will ask where the resources will go, they say they know, the problem that in the budget for 2022 was labeled an important resource for full-time schools, and we know that with her background in Texcoco, Secretary Delfina Gomez does not have the best reputation for managing resources,” he said.

However, on 22 March, the Secretariat of Education canceled the meeting with the members of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo), considering that it did not have enough elements to attend, so it requested another week.

Therefore, the perredista warned that if he continued to postpone or not attend the call, the matter would escalate to the plenary session, in order to take the decisions that are constitutionally and legally appropriate.

He also said that in the event that the secretary does not appear at the meeting, his parliamentary group will request that she appear before the plenary session of San Lazaro.
