A false news began to spread on social networks in front of TransMilenio's traffic schedules for this Wednesday, April 6 due to the protests of motorcyclists in Bogotá. The manager of the mass transit system, Álvaro Rengifo, clarified the situation for users in the capital.
“A fake news is circulating on social media. It is not true that our service operates until 5:00 p.m. So far, the decision is to operate at our usual times,” said Rengifo. With this, TransMilenio's trunk and zonal system will operate until 11:00 at night.

The protest of the moteo guild
This Wednesday is the third consecutive day of protests by motorcycle riders in the capital due to the restrictions on the barbecue that the mayor's office established. The measure would start operating on April 14 and, according to the draft decree, the limitation of motorcycling with a companion will be from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The spokesman recommended that citizens leave the offices “early” due to the demonstrations and although he assured that the day is characterized as peaceful, “we apologize to the citizens, but we fight for the people's vehicle, which is the motorcycle,” he added in the media.
According to the motorcyclists collective, the agreed meeting points are: the Virgilio Barco Public Library, 63rd Street with Carrera 68, the South Highway with Villavicencio, and El Campín.
As for TransMilenio stations and portals that could be affected during the day, the authorities indicated that they could be: Molinos Station; Portal de las Americas; Portal el Tunal; Portal del Sur; Portal de la 80th Street; Portal de Usme; Portal de July 20; Portal El Dorado; Portal Suba, and the North Portal.
The position of the district
For her part, Mayor Claudia López wrote on her Twitter account that she respects the protest and asked motorcyclists not to affect the mobility of citizens. “I invited you today at 6:00pm to listen to them and close the final adjustments to the decree. We all contribute and we all take care of our safety and coexistence,” said the president.
López specified that the draft is available for the public to comment on it and assured that this Wednesday he will receive the entries made by different sectors to make the latest adjustments. “On Thursday, the final decree will be issued,” he added.

It should be remembered that the document provides that users of these vehicles must wear the license plate number on the helmet. Some exceptions to the regulations were also established for: those who work as private security personnel, transport persons with disabilities, provide services for insurers and legal persons and those belonging to the security forces, State security agencies, judicial police, public authorities of transit and transport, emergency and relief agencies, prevention and health.
