The presidential candidates and their vice-presidential formulas are on an electoral campaign and are preparing everything for the elections that will take place on May 29. Recently, the social leader, Francia Márquez, made statements that generated enormous controversy on social networks, as she stated that candidate Gustavo Petro's project is long-term, something that many criticized on social networks.
“Once we reach the presidency of Colombia, we have to make every effort to build a government from below, a government of the people, a government collectively, a government that decentralizes, not only in physical terms, but in terms of underprojection. This change project is long-term and starts on May 29, winning the Colombian Presidency in the first round,” said Francia Márquez.
However, many network users spoke out against these statements, even Senator Maria Fernanda Cabal referred to this and said, “The danger is real. This lady says that Petro's idea of government is one of “long term”, is it that we are not understanding that they are announcing the communist dictatorship to us?”

For this reason, Gustavo Petro, the candidate of the Historical Pact, had to clarify what Marquez said and said that he will not seek to perpetuate himself in power and that is why he will not seek re-election. He said that if he wins the elections, he would hand over the mandate after four years. “The only long-term government in Colombia is that of Uribe, which already wants to give Duque II 20 years of government. We will deliver the mandate at the age of 4,” Petro said on his social networks.
Álvaro Uribe Vélez was another of those who spoke after hearing the words of the vice-presidential candidate Francia Márquez, in a triune, the former president assured that, “Doña Francia does not know the progress of our democracy, more generous to terrorists than any country in the West. And the dictatorship that reveals itself in the long term worsens the problems and does not solve them. Beware of the vote.”

This is not the first time that the former president has spoken a few words with Francia Márquez, since the social leader recently referred to private pension funds, something to which Uribe Vélez responded on her Instagram account. “Colpensiones today has 1.5 million people as pensioners, but only has affiliates as active contributors. to 2.5 million; while private funds today have 247 thousand pensioners, but they have active contributors 6.5 million. Where is corruption? What is the system that guarantees more Colombians and Colombians to retired,” said Márquez in the debate organized by Semana and El Tiempo.
So Álvaro Uribe replied, “Doña Francia, in a young system like that of funds, having fewer pensioners IS NOT CORRUPTION, the money is there in the individual account of each worker, with inflation yields plus 8, to guarantee the pension when they meet the requirements”.
