After Pedro Castillo announced in his message to the Nation a measure of immobility in Lima and Callao for this Tuesday, April 5, thousands of citizens of the capital have expressed its rejection of the current president. A march was also called in different parts of the city to demand his departure from the presidency.
At 3:00 p.m. the first rally was held and held in the Plaza San Martín, where hundreds of people dressed in the national team's jersey attended Peruvian, with banners and pots.
Other protesters also decided to go to Abancay Avenue with the aim of approaching the Congress, where Pedro Castillo was, to let him know that they did not want him to stay in power any longer.
Because irremovability caused different public transport lines to suspend their service, different citizens gathered in squares and parks and then marched to Plaza San Martín.
Another point of concentration was Kennedy Park in Miraflores, where hundreds of protesters also gathered before marching along Arequipa Avenue with the intention of reaching downtown Lima.
It should be noted that there were also different incidents during the march, as a group of protesters tried to cross the police fence with the intention of reaching Congress. This caused the police to use force and start throwing tear gas bombs.
In addition, a group of protesters who would belong to a radical group attacked a patrol car of the National Police. It was totally destroyed and had to be removed from the site before it suffered further damage.
PEDRO CASTILLO ABANDONED CURFEW
Faced with social pressure and after meeting with the board of directors of Congress, Pedro Castillo decided to waive curfew for Lima and Callao, which was to be effective until midnight on Tuesday, April 5.
“I must announce that from (this) moment, we are going to cease this immobility, it is necessary to call the tranquility of the Peruvian people,” he said.
CACEROLAZO IN LIMA
Around noon, dozens of Peruvians joined in protest at the curfew implemented by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo, due to the chaos that occurred yesterday, April 4, due to the transport strike that began last Monday, March 28.
In several videos that users posted on Twitter, neighbors from districts such as Miraflores, Jesús María, Pueblo Libre are heard who came together to make their outrage felt by the announcements presented by the head of state and his ministers.
