On April 1, the 17th edition of the Ibero-American Theater Festival of Bogotá kicked off with great works such as' Victus', developed by Alejandra Borrero and which sends a message of forgiveness and reconciliation to victims of the Colombian armed conflict.
This was not the only title appealing to audiences, as there are others on the list that not only stay on the stage, but also manage to combine other sensory experiences that go beyond a simple theatrical bet. This is the case of 'The strongest, 'which, in addition to dialogue, includes a commitment that encompasses the best of national gastronomy.
This bet is led by actress Marcela Mar -remembered for her appearances in 'Pedro el escamoso', 'Pura sangre' and 'El Capo'-, who together with chef Pedro Fernández were in charge of bringing both arts together on the same stage. But to understand the importance of this work, it is necessary to clarify that this is an adaptation of the original version made by the Swedish playwright August Strindberg, a monologue where he confronts 'Miss X' and 'Miss Y' in a cafe.
For the Colombian version, the actress and the cooking expert decided to set the play in a four-course meal where, in addition, the experience will be extended to contemporary dance thanks to the artist Luisa Hoyos. All this will be lived in the Galería la Cometa, located at cra 10 # 94a-25, north of Bogotá.

There, in addition to witnessing this multiple experience, themes that were also represented by Strindberg in his original work, such as sorority and the value of identity in women, which is the focus of the monologue.
According to Marcela Mar, “In a mutual admiration for each other's work, Pedro -Fernández- and I decided to unite our passions to break out with a proposal that goes beyond the traditional making theater and gastronomy a unique and personal experience”, adding that the realization of this work is a “dream come true” just for being part of the program of the Ibero-American Theater Festival, but for having the talent of chef and dancer Hoyos.
'The strongest' will have performances until next Sunday, April 10. All of them will be held in the same place and will have a maximum capacity of 40 people who will enjoy, at the end, a dinner that represents the text of the work brought to life, making alchemy with the food that passes from the chef's hand, to the spectators' stalls.
With regard to the price of tickets, tickets can be purchased directly on the FITB website and cost 300,000 pesos (general rate); in addition, the greatest availability of tickets is in the function on April 9, which will be presented at 5:30pm.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that this work is directed by Colombian Victoria Hernández and Marcela Mar is the protagonist of the text that is “elegantly cruel and precise” of an explosive encounter between the duality of a woman in the middle of a Christmas. 'The strongest' is, together with 'Pinocchio', 'Landscapes' and 'El bunde del agua', some of the outstanding titles in the Festival program that will run until April 17.
