The constitutional governor of the state of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, announced that, starting this Monday, April 4 and until September 22, the platform so that the population of the entity that has non-regularized foreign cars, better known as chocolate cars, can change the status of their own transport.
Through his official Twitter account, the local president shared a video explaining step by step how this procedure can be carried out, so that the population can regularize their vehicles and provide security for the rest of the citizens.
1. Enter the appointments section of the official website of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), to start the procedure, the CURP of the unit owner will be requested, as well as the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) -which consists of 17 characters-. Once such data is provided, the website will proceed to request personal information: email, telephone and postal code.
2. Access the website of the Tax Administration Service of the State of Sinaloa (Sates) to generate a payment receipt for a cost of 2,500 pesos, which can only be made at BBVA's counters.
3. Once the appointment has been made and the payment has been made for the procedure, you must return to the Sates page to print the manifest in PDF format, which will have to be filled out by hand.
4. Subsequently, you have to wait until the day of the appointment to go to the different modules that the state administration placed; however, it is important that the person concerned comes with the following documents in physical form: proof of appointment, valid insurance policy, title or invoice of the car, stated signed, receipt of payment of the Sates stamped by the bank, proof of address, official identification and the vehicle to be regularized.
5. To complete the procedure, the interested party must acquire the official state plates, which cost 2,648 pesos. This payment can be made at the windows of the module where the appointments take place.
- From April 4 in the municipality of Culiacán, the module will be located in the facilities of the Livestock Fair: Livestock Fair, Culiacán Rosales, Sin.
- As of April 15:
a) Mazatlan Multipurpose Center: Avenida Oscar Pérez Escobosa A, 82275, Mazatlan, Sin.
(b) Los Mochis Multipurpose Centre: Liverpool, Santa Alicia, 81278. Los Mochis, Sin.
c) Guasave Baseball Stadium: C. Lazaro Cardenas Del Rio, Ejidal, 81020, Guasave, Sin.
d) Salvador Alvarado Convention Center: Jobori SN, Guamúchil, Morelos, 81490, Salvador Alvarado, Sin.
The government of the entity estimated that, from April to September 2022, the goal of regularizing around 300,000 cars could be achieved, which could result in a collection of 300 million pesos for the Sinaloa public treasury.
Finally, it was also explained that, on national territory, only vehicles from 2013 to 2022 can be nationalized; while those belonging to 2000 to 2012 will not be able to carry out the procedure.
