The relatives of the victims of the accident on metro line 12 announced that they will present a new expert report that will be handed over to the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City to seek further charges against the possible perpetrators.
This is based on the argument that the 10 officials who have been charged so far are not all responsible for the collapse that occurred on May 3, 2021, since the investigations that have been carried out were not carried out in depth.
The legal adviser to 14 victims, Teófilo Benítez, commented that new lines of investigation will be opened on the facts and the results will be obtained on May 19 and subsequently handed over to the capital's prosecutor's office.

Likewise, he noted that “there has never been a reparation for the damage”. While recalling the amount of one million pesos they have given to the victims' families, he questioned whether that was what their historical reparation consisted of. “They have already put value on a person's life, will their life be worth the same?” , he objected.
And on April 3, the Executive Committee for Victim Care of Mexico City (CEAVI) announced that, almost a year after the collapse of the two wagons of the gold line that left 26 people dead and more than 70 injured, 127 families that were affected by the accident have been treated.
It was also reported that 24 out of 26 families have been compensated with 1 million pesos (the money of the remaining two groups is available to them in the CDMX Victims Fund). According to CEAVI, support consists of five main areas: education, employment, medical care, compensation and housing.
As part of the aid provided, 267 support grants have been awarded to affected adolescents, girls, boys and young people, which will cover their higher education or when they turn 30. 71 housing units and 31 housing improvement supports have also been delivered.

With regard to employment and health, it was mentioned that 94 jobs had been provided in the public sphere, as well as 104 supports for self-employment, while the National Rehabilitation Institute (INR) has provided medical and psychological care to 100 per cent of affected victims.
On the other hand, the head of government of CDMX, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced on March 28 that the rehabilitation of Metro Line 12 will be completed before the end of this 2022. “The goal for us is obviously to end this year and from now on there is an acceleration of all processes,” he said.
Sheinbaum also warned that only victims can request a change of agent of the Public Prosecutor's Office, after some PAN deputies, such as Federico Döring Casar, Hector Barrera and Aníbal Cañez, asked to change Maria de la Luz Alcántar (who participated in the integration of the research folder for the collapse of the Line 12), since on 2 April he received the José María Iglesias Medal, the highest recognition granted by the Prosecutor's Office.
