Javier Lozano broke out against Ley Seca in CDMX: “They treat people as if they don't have criteria”

The head of government of Mexico City reported that the measure will be implemented from the night of April 9 and until the last minutes of Sunday 10

The former head of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (STPS), Javier Lozano Alarcón, broke out after the announcement of the implementation of dry law in Mexico City within the framework of the holding the Mandate Revocation Consultation on 10 April.

Through his official Twitter account, the activist of the National Action Party (PAN) described the decision as a “stupid sovereign”, because he considered that when such measures are taken it for granted that people do not have judgment or freedom in their private sphere.

In addition to the above, he stressed that such precautions will generate a “huge gap” between citizens and the authorities. Finally, he again urged abstentionism for the exercise of democracy to which President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) will submit.

Sovereign stupid*z. Keep treating people as if you have no judgment and freedom, and you will see what a huge gap they will open. I will not be in CDMX, but I invite all its inhabitants to empty the #RevocaciónDeMandato”, wrote the poblano.

And it is that this Tuesday, April 5, the capital's government reported that the restrictive measure of alcohol consumption will begin from the last hours of Saturday, April 9 to the last moments of Sunday, April 10.

During the press conference, the head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, ruled that caution was taken because they were “holidays”, so the aim is to prevent any altercation between citizens.

He also pointed out that the Ministry of Citizen Security (SSC) has already begun implementing security devices to protect the destination of ballots, as well as to ensure that the elections are carried safely; however, he said that it will be until next Wednesday, April 6, that more details will be given on this issue.

However, returning to Javier Lozano's statements, this is not the first time he has made them, since in previous weeks he described the exercise of participatory democracy as “a pretext” for the federal administration to hit the National Electoral Institute (INE).

Based on the politician's statements, the consultation has also been thought of as an act of propaganda by the Mexican president, which is why he has invited citizens not to appear in the polls.

For him, whether he wins or loses that AMLO leaves the presidency, he will continue to lead the Federal Executive because he will look for a way to conclude his six-year term.

Lozano Alarcón's thinking is shared by some sectors of the opposition, who demonstrated in some parts of the Mexican Republic to demand that Andrés Manuel López Obrador should remain in his position as mandated by the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States (CPEUM).

At the cry of “you finish and leave, “empty ballot boxes” and “I defend the INE”, some contingents gathered to demonstrate against the exercise of participatory democracy.
