Jason Momoa was one of the first Hollywood actors to bet on Apple TV+. He has two seasons of See already available and a third on the way. Now he's going straight for his second bet on the platform, this time as a screenwriter as well as a protagonist. The project is called Chief of War and will address the history of unification and colonization of Hawaii. Momoa, in addition to its participation in Apple, is still standing in two major franchises: Aquaman and Dune, and this year it was confirmed as the new member of the Fast and Furious saga.

The fiction was approved by Apple Tv+ with a first season of eight episodes. Momoa will write the series with Thomas Pa'a Sibbett, with whom she worked on Braven. Both also serve as executive producers, as do Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg, and Doug Jung. Justin Chon, who has just directed four episodes of Pachinko, is in negotiations to direct the first two episodes.

Chief of War is now Apple's second series directed by Momoa. The first, as we said before, is See, a fiction about a post-apocalyptic future in which almost all the remaining humans have lost their sense of sight. The show aired its second season in 2021 and has already been renewed for a third season. In addition to Momoa, Dave Bautista participates. Without such repercussion or as popular, this fiction was part of the platform's first large batch of titles.

Momoa skyrocketed its popularity for Game of Thrones, but then had opportunities with Netflix on Frontier and See. And there, new film projects began to emerge such as Aquaman and Justice League, Dune and now Fast and Furious. This time, the Hawaiian will also start writing a story about his homeland.
