The Festival of the Most Beautiful Flower of the Ejido 2022 is one of the traditions of Xochimilco that over time has maintained the customs and highlighted the origins of its peoples that preserve farmland.
The cultural event will take place from 3 to 10 April, there will be a jury with 5 members and 7 people knowledgeable about culture, traditions and art who will be responsible for selecting the three winners, who will receive an economic prize in kind:
* The first place winner will be given 50 thousand pesos.
* For second place they will award the amount of 40 thousand pesos.
* The participant who is in third place will receive 30 thousand pesos.
What are the requirements to participate?
* Young women from the following mayors of Mexico City may register for the contest: Xochimilco, Milpa Alta, Álvaro Obregón, Iztapalapa, Azcapotzalco, Cuajimalpa, Coyoacán, Gustavo A. Madero, Iztacalco, Magdalena Contreras, Tlahuac and Tlalpan.
* They must be of Mexican nationality.
* Be between 18 and 23 years of age at the time of the contest.
* Being single and having no children.
* The documents that must be submitted are in original and copy format:
* The birth certificate.
* The Unique Population Registration Key (CURP).
* Proof of address no older than three months old.
* A recent medical certificate stating that you are fit for physical activity.
* Valid voter's credential.
* The proof or certificate of vaccination against COVID-19.
* A recent child-size photograph.
* Participants must write a message that should not exceed 3 minutes of presentation and must be of their own authorship, the topics they can deal with are:
* On a tribute to the work and work in favor of the homeland of Ricardo Flores Magón.
* Of tangible and intangible heritage of your locality.
* About tourism and recreation, challenges and contributions to the local economy.
* To return to the importance of safeguarding elements of the culture and identity of peoples.
* The impact of social networks on the daily lives of young people.
* Mexican gastronomy as a cultural heritage of humanity.
* The last day to register is March 3, through the Xochimilco mayor's office website www.xochimilco.cdmx.gob.mx, where the registration form is available and by sending a request to the e-mail cfloresc@xochimilco.cdmx.gob.mx or by WhatsApp at 55 37 36 50 14.
Participants must attend the blended training that will take place on Saturdays and Sundays in March, the schedule is from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., when in person it will be at the Carlos Pellicer Cultural Center located at Avenida México, number 5682, Colonia La Noria, Xochimilco, CDMX.
Throughout the contest they must wear a traditional outfit: a hand-embroidered cross-stitch blouse with square neck and short sleeves, chincuete (skirt), girdle, strappy huaraches, ball shawl or Santa Maria, wool laces or ties. They cannot use eyelashes, hair or false nails.
