The end is approaching for the longest series in the entire history of Netflix: Grace and Frankie. On April 29, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will say goodbye to their characters with the second part of the seventh and final season. The series debuted in 2015 and its popularity in the audience has managed to keep it afloat for a long seven years, thus becoming the longest running production on the digital platform.
The streaming service shared the official images of what the new chapters will be and we see a little more about the characters in this final stage. In addition to Fonda and Tomlin, the cast includes Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, June Diane Raphael and Baron Vaughn. The story is the brainchild of Marta Kauffman (one of the minds behind Friends) and Howard J. Morris.
Currently, the comedy consists of 94 episodes and will soon surpass that number with the release of the continuation. In addition, to say goodbye in the best way, the production has prepared a special reunion that will bring memories to those who enjoyed the 80s. The lead actresses will be rejoined by an old friend, Dolly Parton, after 42 years since it premiered 9 to 5. The trio starred in this classic film in which three secretaries fantasize about killing their boss and one day this wish comes true.
El adiós de Grace and Frankie en Netflix
The friendship of both women in fiction began when they learn that their husbands are gay and plan to marry. Grace worked as a manager in a cosmetics company she founded and is now retired, while Frankie is an art teacher with hippie influences and a completely different way of looking at life. When they leave their homes and are forced to live together in front of the beach, they begin to develop a very close bond as they go through the divorce process. What will happen to Grace and Frankie now?
“Seven years ago, Grace and Frankie's lives were turned upside down when their husbands left them for... for each other. Grace and Frankie, both in combat and as accomplices in crime, formed an unlikely and unbreakable bond as they faced an uncertain future. They have laughed together, cried together, tasted mushrooms together and twice became successful entrepreneurs together. Ninety-four historical episodes later, Grace and Frankie continue to show themselves, their families and their fans what it means to live life to the fullest, without fear and without apology. Let's drink to seven seasons of laughter, tears, encouragement and good vibes. And, as Grace and Frankie would say, screw it. This may be their final chapter, but they are just beginning,” says the official synopsis of the end.
The program has long become a favorite of the public, and it will be so difficult to leave it both for those who sit in front of the TV and for those who performed in front of the cameras. From day one, the product differed greatly from others mainly because of the advanced age of almost the entire cast and how the plot naturally deepens aging, marriage, friendship, love, sexuality, family, etc.
Part 2 of Season 7 of Grace and Frankie will be released on April 29th in Netflix.
