Gonzalo Higuain's father confirmed that his son will retire from football this year

For some time now, Gonzalo Higuain began to anticipate that he is close to hanging up his ankle boots. Pipita was closer to the press in recent times and admitted that he is going through the final stretch of his career as a footballer. So far he had not given any details about his future, although he had clarified that he would completely move away from the sport that gave him a name. At TNT Sports, the major of the Higuain dynasty was consulted about Gonzalo's possible return to Argentine football and the response was strong: “No, it ends this year. He told me he's retiring from sports.” Although it was an option that was being considered, the news surprised everyone: Gonzalo Higuain would quit football once the MLS season ends at the end of 2022.

“I would love for him to continue to be linked from another role because he is a guy who is hyper-prepared. You can tell him about football about any country in the world and he knows everything. He was led by the best coaches in the world, he was accompanied by the best leaders in the world, so he is a guy who can have a terrible post-football management capacity,” said Jorge, who is also aware of the desire of former Napoli and Juventus to completely disengage from the round.

And he insisted: “For me it would be a mischief and I told him. He's not mad at football. He has to enjoy life, but he is a person who would do football good. In any sector.”

In one of his last interviews, Pipita had referred to his future once he retired: “It will be far from football, clearly. Far away. I'm going to enjoy it until I play it, but then it's not close. It's a very bad pollution. It's not pain or annoyance, I feel like it's not the world I want to be in.” And he gave a look from his experience: “When you start playing, you say 'what a beautiful thing. ' When you begin to know him thoroughly, the evils, the envy, the jealousy... Already having everything I have, the most important thing, which is my wife and daughter, why go back into that bubble? No!”.

Even the midfielder who played the World Cup in South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018 with the Argentine national team had mentioned that even Marcelo Gallardo couldn't convince him to return to River: “I'm proud to be asked, but not. My dad, me, my brother are happy here, why change? This happiness I have now didn't change it for anything in the world. I see my daughter, my wife, my dad enjoy, I don't want to suffer anymore. My mom from above will always want to see us happy and I promised my old lady not to suffer anymore.”
