Ferrari is undoubtedly one of the largest and most prestigious automotive factories in the industry. Getting into a Ferrari is synonymous with success and power, and thousands of sensations come together when we see a person driving a car of that brand.

His story will now be taken to the cinema by director Michael Mann (Miami Division, Fire against Fire), who will tell the emergence of the factory with the help of driver Enzo Ferrari. In fact, this biopic will focus on Enzo after he abandoned racing and focused on creating the automotive empire. Chronologically, the film will be set in the summer of 1957 when Enzo and his wife are grieving the death of their son while trying to get out of the bankruptcy in which they are immersed.

It is precisely during this moment of such pain that Ferrari decides to bet all the money it has left to its credit on a race called Mille Miglia where it travels a thousand miles (1600 kilometers) throughout Italy.

Enzo was born in 1898 and his parents had a factory where they made metal parts. His racing debut was in 1919 and a year later he was part of the Alfa Romeo team. Nine years later, in 1929, Enzo would create the Scuderia Ferrari.

Mann and Troy Kennedy (The Italian job) assumed responsibility for adapting the novel Enzo Ferrari: The Man and the Machine, written by Brock Yates in 1991.

Enzo Ferrari's life was the obsession of several actors who wanted to play it. The great Robert De Niro (Taxi Driver, Good Lads) and Christian Bale (Vice) flirted with the idea, but they did not thrive on their ideas. Then, the name Hugh Jackman (X-Men) appeared as the strongest to give life to Enzo. But the Australian actor also dropped out of the project and ended up falling into the hands of Adam Driver (Story of a Marriage), who comes from playing a descendant of an Italian family as Maurizio Gucci in the film La casa Gucci (House of Gucci).

Driver will finally be Enzo Ferrari and he will be accompanied by two actresses to give life to his wife Laura Ferrari and her lover, Lina Lardi. Penelope Cruz (Parallel Mothers) will be Laura, Enzo's wife, and Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies) will play the role of the car entrepreneur's mistress.

The film is scheduled to start shooting in Italy soon. Until now, the release date has not been specified, but it is estimated that it will be at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

When the cast of the central actors was unveiled, Mann declared in a statement the joy he felt that they had accepted: “It is a dream come true to have actors like Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and Shailene Woodley bring these unique characters to life in real locations in Modena and Emilia-Romagna.”
