Dance, art and tribute to José José events: free activities that can be done in Mexico City

The country's capital will also have dance and sports performances in the air to spend the weekend in the company of the family.

Mexico City offers a variety of sports, cultural and artistic activities that can be enjoyed with the family or as a couple.

Among the events that can be accessed for free on the weekend and that some are outdoors are music, movies, workshops, art and dance galleries. In February 2022, the following events will be held:

* To the rhythm that they touch me I dance

The event will be held on Saturday, February 19 in the main esplanade of the mayor's office Gustavo A. Madero, located on Calle 5 de Febrero, Villada corner, Villa neighborhood can attend people who enjoy the activity of dancing, it will be outdoors, the groups that will be presented are:

* Dancer of the Elderly from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

* Yuayacán Interstellar Orchestra from 12:00 to 14:00 hours.

* The one from Ensamble Latino Gustavo A. Madero from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

* Agora People's Gallery

The guided tour will be on Sunday, February 20, its focus will be on the fight to access better housing conditions. Visits will be from 12:00 to 14:00 hours in the Old Town Hall Palace, Plaza de la Constitución 2, 3rd floor, in the Historic Center.

* The First Festival of Urban Culture

The festival will be held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 February from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will feature workshops, music, a freestyle exhibition, open microphone, music in indigenous languages and a variety of sports activities. Admission will be free; the government of Mexico City indicated that sanitary measures must be respected for health care: the correct use of masks and respect the healthy distance.

The activities are part of the Chapultepec, Nature and Culture project, the venue of the event will be in the Parque de Cultura Urbana (PARCUR), which is a space of 20,832 square meters, there is a skatepark, skatepark bowl and also a children's area, it is located where the Atlantis and El Rollo water parks used to be, Attendees will also be able to play sports such as parkour or skateboarding, see graffiti murals and enjoy urban music.

It also has areas for the performing arts, physical activities and spaces for a tianguis for graffiti artists as well as an outdoor dining room. It will be on Avenida Constituyentes s/n passing the Lienzo Charro in the third section of the Chapultepec Forest.

* Tribute to José José

In the mayor's office Azcapotzalco they will pay tribute to the prince of song in the Parque de la China in Clavería s/n y Allende in order to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the birth of José José. The event will be at 11:00 in the morning on Saturday, February 19.

* Lup la la Lup

It is a dance work between two women in a sunset, the protagonists demonstrate helplessness that they could not get out and are mesmerized by the rhythm. The presentation will take place at the Centro Cultural Universitario, CU, Insurgentes Sur 3000, Del. Coyoacán, 04510, Mexico City on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th at 12:00 hours.
