Latest news of state of emergency in Peru. While many Peruvians were resting to begin their activities on the morning of Tuesday, April 5, President Pedro Castillo delivered an unexpected message to the nation to express his position - and that of his government - amid demonstrations taking place throughout the country. During his speech, he declared mandatory compliance with the curfew as part of the citizen immobilization, which will temporarily isolate the capital from exit and entry connections. These measures have caused an alert and concern among citizens, who were scheduled to travel inland, medical appointments, purchases of products from the basic family basket, operations in banks, among others.
For the peace of mind of travelers, Jorge Chávez International Airport issued an official statement specifying the following points regarding compulsory social immobilization in Lima and Callao under Supreme Decree No. 034-2022-PCM:
- The airport maintains its operation, however, they recommend contacting airlines to confirm flights.
- They suggest that people who have a scheduled flight carry with them the boarding pass (boarding pass) and identity document (DNI).
- They urged travelers to take the necessary precautions as transportation could be restricted in Lima and Callao.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY FLIGHT WAS CANCELED TODAY, TUESDAY, APRIL 5?
Through the official Lima Airport website, domestic and foreign travelers can check the status of flights - departures and arrivals - thanks to a platform that provides this type of important information. It is important to note that it is not updated in real time, but it does within a few minutes of each other.
- First, from your cell phone or computer, go to the Lima Airport - flights and airlines page.
- On the screen you will see the grid divided into yesterday, today and tomorrow.
- In the columns you will find the data of the registered flight by airline, city, scheduled time, estimated time, status, counter/belt and gate.
- It is in the “Status” part that they will specify if the flight was canceled, confirmed, last call and end of boarding.
Important: Flight information may change at any time. For updates of flight arrival and departure information, we suggest checking the same timely and directly with the airlines.
