Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) said he is confident that this weekend, at the Australian Grand Prix, his luck will change after those of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, who opened the 2022 Formula One World Championship.
“So far the races have been very close and the team and I have been unlucky at times, but I am confident that my luck will change this weekend. We have a strong package this season and I am looking forward to getting in the car again to see what we can do,” Perez said in statements released by his team.
Regarding the novelties of the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, 'Checo' Pérez states that “this year the track layout is new, so it will be interesting to see how this new generation of cars performs on it”.
“Earlier this week I did a simulator job and I think the changes should be good for the show and will make things fun,” he said.
For Pérez “it's great to return to Melbourne after two years of absence” due to the pandemic. “It's always a fun place to run. The fans are always great and I'm sure they're really excited to have Formula One again in Australia,” he says.
Sergio Pérez is seventh in the 2022 World Cup. He was unable to cross the finish line in Bahrain and was fourth in Saudi Arabia after starting from pole, the first of his Formula One career.
