A screenshot of a conversation circulates through social networks in which a group of bikers from the city, called 'Gonobikerreas', allegedly cites a new day of protests in the capital in response to the measures established by Claudia López for motorcyclists in Bogotá.

Although so far there are no problems with mobility due to demonstrations or biker sittings, the people of Bogota remain waiting because when the morning or afternoon advances, chaos could start in the streets of the capital. According to reports through social networks, motorcyclists who will start the new day of demonstrations have already begun to gather outside the Nemesio Camacho El Campín Stadium.

It should be remembered that this group called 'Gonobikerreas', is one of the largest in Bogotá and that has been notorious in the past when they have taken to the streets of Bogotá for different reasons.

Monday's protests in the country's capital

The announced stoppage of motorcyclists last Monday caused a collapse in the mobility of the public transport system and private vehicles in the capital of the Republic.

The protest, called by the group Moteros CO, consisted of occasional blockades in arteries and peaceful demonstrations in different parts of the city.

Affections in TransMilenio as well as stalls on Avenida 68 in both directions of the road were the predominant note of the day in which, again, long lines of users left the articulated ones to return to their homes on foot.

Only until 10:38 p.m., the capital's Mobility Secretariat reported the reopening of the Americas portal — to the west of the city — as well as other nerve points, such as the Transversal 86 and Patio Bonito stations, located southeast of Bogotá.

Previously, the stations of Pradera, Marseille, Avenida de las Americas with Avenida Boyacá and Mandalay were reopened. After 9:00 p.m. food services were enabled in Banderas.

Reasons for the biker protest in Bogotá

Last week the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López announced new restrictions on people who ride motorcycles.

The one that generated the most controversy and annoyance among bikers in the capital is the ban on barbecue some days of the week. As explained by the local president, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the barbecue will be restricted in the streets of the city between 7:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

Some citizens have pointed out that this measure, which will take effect from 11 April, violates their right to mobility.

It should be recalled that the new restrictions are measures that were taken due to the attack on an CAI in Ciudad Bolivar that resulted in the death of two minors.
