Through Twitter and Instagram, some users reported that a group of people were trying to enter the food centers to loot the stalls.

Eden Market in Surco

According to one netizen, the doors of the Eden market in the Surco district had to be closed abruptly due to the presence of a group of people who tried to break in by force to take some merchandise.

MAYOR OF LIMA ASKS PEDRO CASTILLO TO MOVE

The mayor of Lima, Jorge Muñoz, was against and rejected all the current problems of looting, demonstrations and roadblocks in Lima Metropolitan and Provinces. The burgomaster called on Pedro Castillo to take immediate action to continue these abuses that are hitting the capital hard after the transport strike.

“The misgovernment of the country is proof that you, President Pedro Castillo, are not the leader you said you were. Today Peru is overflowing socially, politically and economically, and there seems to be no way out. An immediate solution must be sought and this situation put to an end. You said you would move the elections forward if it did not meet the expectations of Peruvians, what do you expect?” , said the burgomaster on Twitter.

It is worth mentioning that the Union of Multimodal Transport Guilds of Peru (UGTRANM) called for a national stoppage in all transport services for this Monday, April 04. The president of this group, Geovani Diez, said that the call arose as a result of Pedro Castillo's statements in which he says that the strike of heavy cargo carriers, which began on March 28, was being manipulated by organizations that seek to destabilize the country and that they would have also received money for it.

“All bases are being called in all modes of transport. With the insult that the president has made, instead of calming the spirits, he has made the majority of carriers who were undecided, to make that decision. There will be no public transport, tourist transport, taxis, collective cars, motorcycle taxis and, in some regions, river transport. All of them are fighting, they are going to paralyze their activities. Where possible, there will be peaceful marches with which we will mobilize in all parts of Peru,” he added.
