Since the end of March, a considerably larger number of long-haul destinations have been accessible from Munich Airport in southern Germany.

According to the airport's management, with the start of daylight saving time (European) on March 27, German airline Lufthansa flies to San Diego, Rio de Janeiro and Bangkok and resumes its connections to Toronto, Washington and Bombay.

Meanwhile, the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings Discover flies to Las Vegas, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, and Cancun in Mexico.

More connections to the United States

United Airlines adds Denver to its program as a new destination from Munich to the United States, while Delta and American Airlines once again fly daily to the North American cities of Charlotte and Atlanta, with a connection from Delta to Detroit to be added starting in May.

It was also reported that all airlines in the Persian Gulf are operating again from Munich with the summer flight schedule: Emirates flies to Dubai, Qatar Airways to Doha, Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi, Kuwait Airways to Kuwait City and Oman Air to Muscat. Meanwhile, Jeddah and Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, are serviced by Saudi Arabian Airlines.

Thai Airways International also takes off again from Munich and offers a connection to Bangkok.

New destinations in northern Europe

In addition to many holiday destinations in southern Europe - the company Condor offers 14 weekly flights to Majorca - services are now being offered from Munich to three Scandinavian airports: Billund in Denmark, Bergen in Norway and Tampere in Finland.

The fact that there are many more connections from Munich airport than in the previous two years is mainly due to the “elimination of many travel restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic,” explained the Munich airport operator.

The summer flight program is valid until October 29, 2022.
