Lupillo Rivera had the chance to be in the first broadcast in April of La Entrevista with Yordi Rosado, where the Mexican interpreter tearfully delved into how he learned about the death of his sister, Jenni Rivera, in December 2012.

It was in an intervention with Yordi Rosado that the Toro del Corrido recalled when both singers planned to tour together, following a song they had recorded together Tragos de amargo licor, which, he mentioned, was the last one he sang with his sister months before his death.

I was the last artist with whom she sang in a duet on stage,” said the major league performer.

Later and after the memory of his last collaboration, Yordi Rosado questioned him about how he found out about Jenni's death, where the Mexican producer also pointed out, for the first time, that the regiomontano broadcaster, Gabriel Roa, was in charge of giving him the news.

“I was in North Carolina on tour. She was in Monterrey. I have never said his name, but I will say it: I get a call from Gabriel Roa and he says: 'Compa Lupe, we have a serious problem'. And I said, 'What's the deal, what's up? ' He tells me: 'We didn't find your sister's plane [...] The Mexican Government called me, told me to talk to someone who knew Jenni' well. I marked to my dad that I was driving to Phoenix and said: 'There is a problem, you need to go back to the house, they can't find Jenni's plane, 'he explained in the talk that it lasted just over 10 minutes.

On the recommendation of the announcer who told him “Don't tell your family”, Lupillo had to make time to confirm the news, so he had to hide it for a few hours from his parents, Rosa Saavedra and Pedro Rivera.

Later, and amidst a sea of tears, the singer-songwriter, who lives in the United States, pointed out that at first he did not have time to live the duel and between his brothers Pedro and Juan Rivera, they did everything impossible to hide it from their parents and the children of La Diva de la Banda.

“I had no other choice but to be cold, I couldn't cry, I couldn't let off steam, I had to be cold. I marked my carnal Pedro: 'Go to my mother's house, turn off the television, the internet and everything, '” Lupillo argued.

“Pedro arrives at my mother's house, starts to disconnect things. I dialed Juan and said, 'They can't find Jenni's plane, bring the whole race to my brother's house. ' I called my daughters 'Take away Chiquis' cell phones. I think they fought between them, in desperation that incident happened. With the whole family at their mother's house, they found out on the news,” he added.

However, all the effort fell apart when, in an oversight of his brother, Pedro, his mother, he found out about the situation and immediately fainted: “My mother, in a carelessness of my carnal Pedro, a call came to the house and she answered: 'Doña Rosa, they can't find Jenni's plane, 'and she passed out.”

After rejoining, Lupillo's mother marked him to learn about the situation: “What is going on son? I said, 'I can't tell him, 'he recalled amidst the cry of fellow presenter Yordi Rosado.

It was until the next morning that the entire Rivera dynasty confirmed Jenni's death: “At 6 in the morning I couldn't stand it anymore and Gabo 'They confirmed the death of your sister'”. But that was not all, since at the request of the Government of Mexico, Lupillo went to Monterrey, to “see if the remains belong to her or not”.

It was on December 9, 2012 when Jenni Rivera lost her life in a tragic plane crash hours after giving a concert at the Monterrey Arena, which would be her last, in the Sierra Madre Oriental, in the municipality of Iturbide, in Nuevo León.
